We warned you time and time again before the season started
We warned you..........or a few of us did
We had a small weak squad and we warned you
We warned you that if there were any suspensions or injuries that the squad was not strong enough
We warned you time and time again
Today against Wendy we had a left back and a player brought in during an emergency transfer deal playing in midfield
And didn't it show
WHY ??? Because Ritchie didn't strengthen the squad

For all those that said the current squad was good enough.............TO DAY IS YOUR PAY DAY !!!
You are (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr) (wnkr)

After today Shephard also needs to look at his position at the club
He knew last season that Ritchie was not going to bring players in

It wasn't Ritchie's decision to play Williams in midfield

Why didn't we play Tonge, a player who could have broken down the play.

No idea. Definitely not at work, though. Honest.

Given the players that have come in, maybe Ritchie was right? There's bringing players in to strengthen the squad, and there's bringing players in for the sake of it. I doubt we have the financial muscle to get in the kind of players we desperately need.

You're right - we always did need to strengthen, but it's whether that was really ever a possibility.

Nothing to do with Ritchie.
Davey is the one that played ROBBIE WILLIAMS in central midfield, why not Wroe or Tonge. McCann is looking like he is not up to it in this league. It is up to the Manager to make sure that thr team knows what they are required to do when the match kicks off, Williams did not have a clue

You cannot blame Davey (even though I don't want Davey) for that performance

Davey can only piss with the priick he has got
He has been thrown in the deep end after Ritchie has left us high and dry

Richie wanted to sign BETTER players. Are Knight, McCann and Reid better than what we've got? I think not.
Shepherd doesn't get it that when you move up a league you need to bring better players in on better wages or more often than not you get relegated.

You need to wait a little longer to convince me about Ritchie

Seen as I am not party to what happens behind the doors atOakwell, I will reserve judgement until I witness first hand the quality of signings made during the transfer window.

It is a fact that the team is not strong enough. I'm not sure that has ever ben in question. However, the reasons for that are not so clear.

On the radio this afternoon, Gordon stated that an announcement regarding the manager would be made next week.

I dont always agree with you mate.....

but I think you are quite right in what you are saying. Had we not brought in the loan deals at the 11th hour, im not quite certain what team would have shown today. Without K. Reid and McCann it would have been a case of "if you're fit, you're playing". Ritchie did a good job in getting us up in the first place, but his real mistake was not bringing in players, end of. Im sure Davey knows that this current team is not good enough, and if he gets the job im certain he will bring in his own players - if backed by GS and, more importantly, PC.

If Ritchie was in charge we wouldn't have lost 3-0

At swillsboro, under Ritchie we fought back to lose to a last minute strike (the kind of which goes in once every 20 attempts)
Today we went 1 down and lost all pride and fight. As soon as they scored we were never going to get owt.

For Nudger: Quick Question regarding signings

Do you reckon we will sign anyone who is currently in the FIRST TEAM at a championship club?

I think we need to sign a couple.

The current squad is good enough

but only if every single player is fighting fit and on top form. That is never the case with any football team. Today's performance was probably one of the worst of the season and Wendys have improved since we met at Hillsbrough, however, it's crucial that we really strengthen the squad in January because Howard and Togwell especially were sorely missed. If the rumours about Howard leaving are true then the need for incoming transfers is greater still.

I reckon it could be partly down to......

Davey having told them who is and isn't in his plans. Davey knows who can sink and who can swim in this league, and he knows we aren't good enough. So if he is the chosen one, then he will bring players in during the window that he feels is good enough for this level. I'd much rather have him than worst-case-scenario-Blackwell.

and tell me why he didnt

Because your claims about him never signing players whilst at oldham was proved to be a lie.

RE: The four players brought in after Ritchie left are/were EMERGENCY signings

Richie should have signed 4 players on who weren't good enough shouldn't he?
And with the **** wages on offer that's all he'd av got, players like Knight and McCann.

He stated that he wanted experienced players at this level, unfortunately for Shep they cost and unfortunately for us unless we get some we're going down.

Can't you fooking see that!!!

yes we can blame davey

We can blame davey for choosing to play robbie williams in central midfield rather than the four or five better options available to him.

We can blame davey for leaving dale tonge sat on the bench until 87 minutes despite it being clear to everybody in the ground that williams was not up to the job.

We can blame davey for not motivating his players for a local derby.
