Went down the A1 yesterday..... what a bizarre road !!

    All the modernisations done up north, no roundabouts, at least two lanes, the superhighway four lanes past Peterborough, and then as it gets busier towards London, down to two lanes, 50 mph, the original tiny roundabouts and the road itself just passing the back of peoples' gardens and back yards and twisting and turning over bridges and rivers.
    Very peculier.

    But yet many recommend it as the best way to go

    M1 everytime for me although maybe rhat cos I can be on it and in cruise control within a min
