Saw Dennis play. Lined up as CB in a back 4 and marked Odajeyi. Very tall and wiry, good in the air, but was shrugged and muscled off the ball by Odajeyi a couple of times. Good with ball at feet, but might get knocked about a bit if he did sign for us. Other observations: Hassell trained on his own again, ran a few laps with Physio. Ricketts very quick and skilful, but a mardy little whinger. Mossto looks like Andy Peyton. Odajeyi looks like a big strong bugger. Werling is Roberto Carlos but dirtier - always kicking at people's ankles. Kozluk lined up at RB. Mattis looked QUALITY!!!! That is all.
I can believe that based on his Morecambe performance. I hope he continues to impress either at Buxton or Rotherham and proves a lot of people wrong next season
I hope Odejeyi is good enough to muscle the best of CH in the Championship off the ball so doing this to Souza only a couple of times doesnt worry me too much!
RE: How did Mostto look as a player? nt. nt Looked quite good in the drills early doors, and was paired with Ferenczi in the "match". Quite small and quick, with a good touch. Must have a bit of camel in him, becuase while everyone else was swigging water every 5 minutes, he just stood there. Clearly he stockpiled his water before training.
nice one.... hopefully if he does get the chance next season, we give him a few more games then last season before ridiculing him...
Not banging my own drum here or blowing my own trumpet........Mattis I have said all along that Mattis showed some good touches the few times we saw him last season And........he seemed at the time to have a decent engine, able to get from box to box But suddenly he got an avalanche of abuse on here - after only a handful of games Its the old story - a few says he's rubbish so the majority jump on the band wagon because they can't think for themselves Some have stayed quiet about him and it seems that its only been me thats backed the guy I'm not saying he is a world beater but he definatly int the rubbish player that has been portrayed on here.
correct Nudger Some of the people on here can apparnatly judge a players potential based on less than 150 mins of football. There's time yet for him to prove himself. Don't think he'll be a regular but perhaps OK for the bench.
RE: Not rubbish ,just not good enough My opinion is that he was shocking. Maybe he just wasn't ready and took time to adjust to the step up, and hopefully he can prove me wrong. He might have been working hard and is now ready to show us exactly what he can do.
Problem Mattis has got...... is that central midfield is the strongest area of the squad - so there is a lot of competition there, but I hope to see Mattis playing further into the season
RE: correct Nudger Whilst a number of people on here can judge a player on Zero mins of football and know him to be brilliant.
RE: LIke who for instance? nt I'll have a look later and let you know.
The concensous on here seems to be that we have a far stronger squad/team than last season.
You can pretend that isnt the view to try and be a bit clever , but it isnt really working.
I hope that the players we have signed are going to better than those that have left , but until they actually play some competitive games for us then I have no clue how its gonna turn out.

I would have said we are starting the season stronger up front than at the start of last season. Odejai looks much more of a handful than Richards, Hayes or Wright and has a better league one scoring record than any of those 3 and in a poor side. Ferenczi lost a bit of form at the end but still would have him in front of the the departees.Mostto is the big unknown but you cannot argue with his scoring record and has played and scored against some quality teams.Nardiello is a loss but only for 1/4 of the season. Coulson may come through or there's time yet to sign a fourth striker even if its a loan. Its very likely we are stronger at full back since Kozluks arrival. Bruma and Werling are unknown quantities I firmly believe all our left back options last season were not up to the mark for the champioship so its not likely to be weaker. In Midfield Johnson has plenty of experience though maybe slow but I cant think of anyone we have lost in this area that would have been better. Rickets has plenty of skill, pace and has played in plenty of games for a top half prem side and for Wolves last term. May not be as good as McIndoe (though that remains to be seen) but probably better than Reid or Shuker. Midield stronger I would have said. As for central defence we have lost a few options here mainly in Kay though I cant think that he was reallygood enough for this league. For me no better or no worse than reid. WE are currently clearly weaker in this department though if no new additions are found. On balance I would have said we look slightly stronger though a lot depends on some unknowns but what I do know is that we wont be starting the season with some of the players who were IMHO were not good enough. So slightly stronger without saying any of our new squad are brilliant. Getting the central defence sorted is clearly the priority and hopefully that will be sorted before the season starts.
