but I saw several corners taken where we failed to challenge for and attack the ball. That was poor in itself
No variety in our corners not sure what they're practising in training, surely worth having Werling on the edge of the box for direct hit ala Scholes.....
From what i can tell watching us this season We look most likely to score from dead ball situations. Its just the rest of the match we look crap.
As opposed to conceding from any high ball into the box with our frightened keeper glued to the line?
Not Been Good At Corners For Years I really do find it difficult to get excited when we get a corner, as one of the following usually happens...... 1. It gets cleared and the opposition attack us. 2. It's whipped in too close to the keeper (around the six yard box), so it's a dolly to take away the danger. 3. We win something in the air and it's either a foul on the keeper or one of the outfield players.
Certainly an area that needs attention If we play Campbell-Ryce on the wing, we will get very few crosses from open play but win about 10 corners per game. We need to capitalise on this and start looking dangerous from corners.
