i took my phone on holiday fell asleep on it and went on the internet the following morning i put my phone in the safe with out looking at it.. 3 days later after hearing it beeping i look at it and realise i am on the internet i turn it off straight away and dont touch it, now t-mobile are wanting me to pay 570+ quid and i didnt even use the net for anything it was a freak accident they have cut my phone off so i can not send phone calls or sms but i can recieve them.. any advice much appreciated thanks
are you sure its for net access you get charged for data rather than time and as most wap pages dont refresh you wont have downloaded much data also thats an impressive battery that stays going for 3 days constantly downloading sounds like you just made a few too many calls and are now trying to get out of it
didnt make one call on holiday and no text messages i took my phone mainly to take pictures and videos with it... i get 180 quid free a month and i have never gone over it always have somthing like 50 quid left i sitll have 85 left this month soo it is definatly not for the phone calls
Dunt fancy yer chances mate ........... ....... although it should be obvious to them that you weren't legitimately connected for all that time, just a guess but it might come down to their goodwill to let you off just to keep your custom but I wouldn't hold my breath
any usage whilst abroad calls, texts etc wont come out of your allowance how many of the texts and the videos did you send to others
i sent none of them until i got back home and it was threw bluetooth.. which doesnt cost as far as i no
well am gonna have a word with them and tell them it was a clear mistake and see what they say if they are making me pay it i will argue it.. because i took it abroad before and started using it and then when i got back found out it cost me and ran up a 300 quid bill so surely they would no i wouldnt do it again
The pattern of your usage should be obvious ...... ...... to them that it was an accident, but whether they go for it or not is down to their policy on such things, if it was me and they refused to wipe it I'd be well pissed off, reluctantly pay the bill and take my business elsewhere
You used it abroad before and ran up a £300 bill That may not bode so well in you trying to convince them that this time it was an accident.
Did you receive many calls? Roaming costs for incoming calls are also extortionate. It does seem strange for it to be internet costs. As already stated, they're usually based on actual data transfer rather than connection time. Presumably you've got a statement of the costs breakdown? As far as goodwill goes, it's not so helpful with it being abroad as some of the costs incurred will ultimately be due to the local operator, not your domestic operator. It depends on whether they're likely to swallow that to keep your custom.
Talk to them But you'll proably need to write a letter, because the call centre person won't have the authority to just wipe it off your account. If it really was a single call, you'd hope they could see it was a mistake and come to some sort of compromise, but they probably aren't obliged to.
yer the 300+ bill was because my grandad was poorly and my brother nikt it and rang all is mates like a dick... also i didnt make any outgoing calls or recieve any i got 2 msgs while over there one from movistar and one from orange welcoming me to there networks and to have a good time in spain
I would blame the phone and say it is not fit for purpose. It is not reasonable for them to assume you have been surfing for three days solid abroad. This is a zero cost item for them, you haven't left an electric fire on for a year after all. Ask them for a record of your internet usage during that time, i.e. were you surfing/emailing etc.</p>
Probably not zero cost for them As they'll have to pay the local operator but certainly a lot cheaper than they pass on.
certainly not zero cost signalling channels when setting up a call or wap surfing from abroad inter network are very similar and you will have a variety of costs to take account of
your phone was in a safe for 3 days thats some serious network coverage to still be received in there
Taking into account everything you have said the operator will think you are full of sh*t and tell you to pay up
