"We have no plans to go into the transfer market again unless we have a disaster of an injury. We will go now with what we have got." - Simon Davey Personally, I think it's important to have a player for every one of the 11 positions in the team, but I'm old fashioned like that.
agree with you cant believe we not looked or anything for a natural left back . find some of daveys decisions very confusing
Kozluk is comfortable at left back.. but Davey prefers to play somebody out of position (Van Homoet).
Can we get some banners made up, one saying "We need a left back" and another saying "Bobby Hassell is not a midfielder" I know Simon's blind but someone might get the hint.
RE: Kozluk is comfortable at left back.. Van Homoet has not really done anything to impress me at all. I much prefer Kozzie. Van H is supposed to be super fast, but when has he really shown that? I'm not sure what he brings to the starting eleven and for me his 3 game ban will not make any difference. Will he be missed?
Do you think SD dunt know this ? PC even came out after last season and said we need a defensive midfielder - he wouldn't have said that if it hadn't been confirmed by SD first And so we went out and got one..................problem is he can't play until he gets international clearence to do so As for the left back.................there is no doult we are short of left footers
Why dont we stick Odejayi At left back tell him to try and score past the team in red otherwise black if we are away, try has he might theres no way hes going to score more than what maybe 2-3 own goals all season? Sorted.
RE: Kozluk is comfortable at left back.. I'm hoping that it may mean that Hassell is played in defence, it won't happen but I'm still hoping.
RE: Kozluk is comfortable at left back.. Aye and Kozzie would have "done" the Argie reight if it had been him who went in for that tackle
RE: Kozluk is comfortable at left back.. I can see you now grinding yer teeth whilst you're saying that, face contorted LOL
We aren't short of left footers YN, we simply do not have ANY left back at the club We do not have a member of the senior squad that is a left back and the fact that Simon Davey comes out publically and says he isn't going to sign one says a lot about the mans ability to manage a professional side to me.
We're planning to concede about 65-70 goals rather than the 45 normally required for a play-off place, at which point our better players will get bored and piss off.
He was a left back Don't be stupid. We can only sign right backs and then play none of them at right back
in name only We want a defender, not a wannabe winger/midfielder, etc.
Someone who doesn't dive in. Who is intelligent enough to not give stupid fouls away around the box, (because we cannot defend set pieces). Someone who doesn't get booked after 15 minutes. Who doesn't roam up the field trying to score spectacular goals. Give the ball to Devaney, Howard, JCR, lad - let them do that. You stay where you are and keep the ball out of the bloody net for one period of 90 minutes.
I realise this may involve spending a bit of money, but surely it would be money better spent than keeping 3 strikers arses on the bench.
