Seems to work well up front when paired with Mcghee, she gets the knock downs and he works his magic from the edge of the box. Tricky pairing, but like Hendry and Wilko, you need both to get the sparkle.

i said last night we are still missing the spine!

A strong no nonsense centre half (Morgan), Playmaker in midfield (McPhail), goalscorer (chops). If we had made these 3 players our this season i would have fancied our chances at doing something.

But we are going to struggle with the strikers we have got, nads out, and nobody to put the chances on a plate.

 

If we had signed Cannvaro , Viera and Trezeguet

I would have relaxed as well.</p>

merely pointing out how good it would have been and how much we would all be looking forward to the new season. instead we are left now with a suck it and see and fingers crossed we are going to be good enough.

Im still looking forward to it but i just hope the managers faith in the players pays off. I seem to remember Wilson coming out with exactly the same statement when we got promoted to the premiership. Alas Hendrie, Wilko etc were not good enough.

 

Those 3 would have been a combo 20K+ a week in wages.

No were not , its smoke and mirrors , we are loaded.

The previous years when we were losing up to 3mill a season , that was all made up , and once we reach break even that debt disappears.

So, since the club had not projected in last years plan

600k from PO's (my guess)</p>

600k for flinders (again my guess but likely close)</p>

600k PA additional TV money</p>

and an estimated 4000x18quidx23games = 1.65million extra gate money.</p>

We are obviously skint.</p>

Its a good job we did it last season then because approximately 2.8 million of this money we would not have if we had not made the play offs.</p>

OK the figures are a guess but even if 25% optimistic I think it indicates we are far from skint.</p>

GS said the the club was projected to be on an even keel after this season without getting into the PO's / promotion.</p>

Now I support prudence to an extent but skint? pull the other one.</p>
