I didn't go to either game but from looking at expected goals it doesn't seem like we were awful - we matched Reading and comfortably bettered Bolton. I'm interested as to how this corresponds to the views of those who went.
Shows what use stats are! Went to both games Reading absolutely battered us and on another day could have been 5 or 6. We were slightly better against Bolton and I think 3-1 flattered them but was a game where our finishing let us down on more than 1 occasion
I went to Bolton and as a team we were awful and as individuals we were awful at best with some giving their worst performance I've seen in a red shirt.
Bolton was awful We made a very poor side look half decent This season is becoming very similar to the last relegation season
A lad I work with went to the Reading game and he said that the first half in particular was absolutely horrific. The second half was a slight improvement but he'd left before the third goal went in.
I didn’t go to either match , listening to Hecky though he thought we deserved at least a point at Bolton
At Reading we had a spell at 2-0 after Thiam came on but before that were truly horrific. Similarly at Bolton we had chances when we were behind in the second half. In both cases I got the feeling these two unimpressive opponents had eased off and could score, almost at will, if they put their foot back on the gas. Don't know how those stats are worked out but I suspect they are distorted by the chances we had in what the Yanks call 'garbage time' when the game was to all intents and purposes over. We got what we deserved in both games and teams have now cottoned on that if they attack us, we crumble.
We were garbage. Reading or Bolton weren’t brilliant by any means but both comfortably better and far better than us.
We should have had something at Bolton. We created more in the 2nd half than we did in the previous 3 games, but we just didn't look to have the belief.
