FootyMAD > TykesMAD > News From T'well > Tykes News Werling-Go! By Barnsley Boy Monday, 24th December 2007 Full backs departure starts January exodus. Full-back Dominik Werling has shocked the club by turning down the offer of a contract and it is believed has now left the club. Article continues below JavaScript/Standard Tags: Werling who has become renowned for his Roberto Carlos like free kicks joined on a six month loan from Turkish side Sakaryaspor in July with a view to a permanent move in January. However it is now thought Werling has turned down the board's contract offer and has returned to Turkey. The German who has hit 1 goal in 19 appearances for The Reds was not in the squad for Saturday's defeat at Bristol City and seems to have ended his Barnsley career. This departure is not the only one either in January as today Premier League strugglers Derby County have announced they will recall Lewin Nyatanga and Jon Macken at the end of the month. Nyatanga has grown in stature during his two spells at Oakwell and formed a noticeable defensive partnership with Dennis Souza whilst Macken, scored his first goal for the club at the weekend. Derby's new boss, ex Sheffield Wednesday and Bradford gaffer Paul Jewell told the Derby Telegraph: "We will be bringing Lewin back and I want to give every player the opportunity to show me they are good enough to be here. "Things can change very quickly in football but I would like them all back to have a good look at them." Reds boss Simon Davey has already agreed to sign Grasshopper Zurich's attacking midfielder Diego Leon but with this trio of departures and persistent rumours over Heinz Muller and Brian Howard, Mr Davey may have to send out his scouts once more… Meanwhile the FA has confirmed winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce will serve a one match suspension in the Boxing Day home clash with Stoke City after being sent off for two yellows cards at Bristol City. The second, for diving, left Davey fuming. From The FA: JAMAL CAMPBELL-RYCE BARNSLEY FC Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed one first team match for a Sending Off in a match played on 22/12/2007.
Rumour has it he was being paid peanuts in footballing terms,Muller going,Portugese keeper in,club shop to become a Netto Express, bingo at half-time
whats Bruma like.?(or whatever he's called now)..aint seen him play yet will he take Werlings slot ok...and matbe move Foster to centre back and Hassel right back? Macken was just same as Stan so now worriy there... The new mid-fielder is so obviously a Howard replacement. The only one that troubles me at all is Muller going.
Is there any chance we will have a team left by this time next week Werling going ? Macken gone Nyatanga gone Howard going ? Muller going ?
Believe It When Davey Comfirms It I'm not saying it's not true, but it does sound like they got the rumour off this message board from the other day. If he's leaving, why was he training with us yesterday?
no great loss werling in more than half the games he played he was usless from a defensive point of view. the novelty of being able to kick the ball very hard doesnt make up for that
Revise the list...........ooohhh...........my.......God Werling going ? Macken gone Nyatanga gone Howard going ? Muller going ? Also De Silva...................GONE
RE: no great loss werling.................****** Werling is growing in confidence and talent every time you see him He will be a fantastic player for us thats if he stays
agree its a loss i believe he will become a good addition to the squad if he stayed. Now hes left thats only souza whos natrally left footed at back once nyantangs goes?
