could be blessing in disguise, thought he was all over the place on Sat, added to his unprofessional reaction to not being able to take a free kick, chance for someone else to come and claim the shirt.
If we're playing with two wingers I don't think there's a place for Werling. It sometimes works, but both him and Devaney are far too attacking minded to play down the same side. We've got the balance perfectly down the right.
RE: If we're playing with two wingers I think it works well with Werling and Devaney overlapping, maybe better though that we lose Werling for an away game where we probably won't set out quite so attacking.
Not sure about playing Kozluk against the Blades, noticed that Bruma was on bench on Sat, he's obviously closer to fitness than Hassell, not the most ideal game for him to make his debut, but anyone's better than Reid. other options I suppose is McCann, he's come on as left back in a game I seem to remember.
Have to disagree with the criticism of Werling - outstanding at Ipswich, outstanding against Palace, and was solid on Saturday apart from one mistake. 3 clean sheets in a row suggests he's not doing a lot wrong. Better than Kozluk on what I've seen.
Cant comment on Ipswich but thought he was poor at Wednesday, had a good game against Wolves, but on Sat he seemed all over the shop in the second half. He seems to give the winger far too much room and allows crosses in when he should be tighter to his man. great going forward, but he'd be up against Gillespie on Sat who can cross a ball given chance, with Beattie in the box, I'm relieved in a way he's suspended. at home, maybe worth the risk.
I can understand not wanting him to play away from home, particularly against a side like Sheff Utd. But he plays every home game for me, drives forward, probably the best crosser we've got, and I think aside from one mistake on Saturday, he's defended very well recently. Personally would bring in Van Homoet on Saturday rather than Kozluk, not been overly impressed.
I'd agree re Werling Ok for home games, but he gives me the jitters away. Seems to leave a lot of holes, but as you say, does well going forward. I thought Kozluk had been doing well, started slowly but been pretty consistent just before his injury.
I know Van Homoet is a right back, but as I don't believe on what I've seen that Kozluk is a left back (for me, he looks uncomfortable there.), we don't have a seemingly natural left back other than Werling, and therefore I'd be tempted to play Van Homoet there, given that Kozluk has been struggling with an injury for a few weeks too.
Play Reidy Back four of Nyatanga, Reid, Souza and Foster. It's not the game to throw in Hassell or Van Homoet for the first time this season.
I think we need to make as little changes as possible If Kozluk's fit, he has to play. I don't fancy the idea of changing our centre halves etc about when we've been so good at the back over the last few games.
RE: Van Homoet is a right back He is. But he played left back at Hull in the reserves last week and had a very godo game. Not the same like but.......... (chinny)
Whats dreamy suggesting Nyatanga or Souza at LB with Reid in the middle - that was an experiment Davey tried earlier and it didnt work so no point repeating it. As Reid isnt a left back either it needs to be something different. Kozluk if fit - no idea about Van whats his name so cant comment - or maybe play Togwell there if Hassel isnt fit enough yet
RE: I think we need to make as little changes as possible Agree with that. Kozluk in for Werling and thats it. Koz was doing ok at LB after a slow start and is the obvious choice if fit. He has a chance to get playing again. If Koz can't play then we have a bit of a problem. Van Homoet maybe? Definite no to messing with the whole back 4.
