Anyone else find it ironic that they qualified for the Europa League through the fair play league and have already had 3 red cards and the manager sent to the stands in just 5 games in the competition

Would love them to go down this year.

A lovely way to start life in their new taxpayer funded stadium

I like them too. Shame they are moving because Upton Park is as much of a proper ground as you will find.

What makes it a "proper ground"?

Just one of my favourite away grounds. The area of proper folk like the Tarn of London. Decent stadium with no restricted viewing. Seats nice and close to the pitch for a good intimidating atmosphere. Home fans make the atmosphere really good as they aren't plastic fans like a number of London clubs. Just enjoy going there. Walking down the side of their side stand to get to the away end i'm happy i'm not a Millwall fan doing that journey :D

I've always found their fans to be over-aggressive arseholes outside the stadium.

    Maybe true

But you have to realise what area in London you are in

    Not exactly Mayfair is it

Unlike the Olympic stadium still I cant see how its going to work as a football stadium.
It was absolutely perfect for athletics - I was there last weekend for the Anniversary games and tried to imagine watching a football match - but the pitch is too far away.

I have no idea how the change to football - but still maintaining an option to hold athletics is going to work

I know they are ripping up the Olympic track and doing something with the seats in the lower tier but I still cant picture it really working.

Catering already practicing for football though - only had pies and a cauliflower cheese tart and they couldnt cope with demand staggered through a 4 hour period so how they will cope with a half time rush is anyones guess.

Noticable how few took lunch in on Saturday but almost everyone had been to Marks or Waitrose in Westside on the way to the stadium on Sunday ( me included)

I thought Upton Park was a decent ground as well

I went to the athletics last Friday night and have to say the new expensive roof did it's job and the view was great for athletics and might be ok for football, if you have binoculars.
I also did the Wembley stadium tour on Saturday and to compare the two, it's like Premier League versus Conference !
Also worth a mention, while the Olympic stadium was only two thirds full, the organisation to get people into Stratford station was dreadful - reminiscent of queuing to get into Wembley Park station after a match, without the mindless idiots.

Last time I was at Wembley, I left on the final whistle with the rest of the crowd and the organisation to get everyone through was top notch. I was back in my hotel within the hour and that included a 25 minute train journey.
