We’ve won the toss and conditions seem to favour Anderson so we bowl … c’mon ( Sir ) Jimmy !
Smith has replaced Foakes as stumper and he is second choice keeper at Surrey behind Foakes !
Seems very odd but the selecters know best !!!???

When Jimmy Anderson made his debut, I was still in primary school. I’m now in my 30s!!

Agree. I suspect they will end up with eggs on face mate hopefully. And As Jimmy says. He's playing as well as ever. I'm not one into holding on, because of nostalgia. Jimmy deserved better until he couldn't prove himself. He's doing that still.

I still find it weird that the decision has been made for him 1 test into the English summer.

What if he has a blinding test?

Does that make it the right call?

Yes. It's important to use the dozen or so tests before the next Ashes to get younger guys up to speed and tests against two poor nations is the perfect place to start.

I think it was thought his final game should have been Lords

Louis is a find. His last 14 innings has four 50s and three 100s. Not even a blind umpire can stop him.

The West Indies of the late 70s up to the mid 80s were so formidable and fearsome.

So sad to see such a demise.

Greenidge Lloyd Haynes Richards Richardson Holding Marshall Garner Ambrose Walsh just to name a few.

I'd struggle to now name a West Indian international test cricketer.

    Spot on.
During the last ten yrs, arguably the best all round cricketer in the world has been Jason Holder but because he plays for WI he doesn’t get the recognition he deserves.
    His figures are unbelievably good

That Atkinson lad can bowl a bit.

No sentimentality for Jimmy's last test. Just hoover up those wickets!!

    Aussies have a point though.

West Indies will be likely 3 day test matches. We need to up our game against the bigger nations instead of being happy to lose so often just because we play entertaining.

In other news the Barmy Army posted the drinks price list for Lords.

Be over on Friday this, costing us at least one more day of the joy of listening to Ian Bishop on commentary.
