Apparently 400k. Seen some people think they're mad for rejecting it, some Carlisle fans saying 400k is an embarrassing offer...
400k is a lot of money for a L2 lad who's played just one season of football. It's a lot of money for Carlisle too. I can't imagine it was that much, otherwise he'd be here, signed and sealed. We got Hourihane and Winnall for that.
Aye but we accept the pi55 take bids. I get the point of starting low but if we're offering £50k for a player valued at £200k we're just wasting everyone's time, including our own. All speculation of course, I have no idea if we're actually doing this.
I'm just a tad surprised that in amongst all these young players we've got (or are trying to get) that we're not adding one or two more experienced lads. I don't mean old, just well worn, been there done it types. Maybe we'll see a few added, I dunno, but as it stands we look like we're trying to assemble the most inexperienced football squad of all time. And as Alan Hansen once said.......
I thought 400k was a bit steep as well. It's only on twitter where I've read it so probably toss. He does look a great prospect though!
£1,000,000 is also a lot for an 18 year old kid who has just 22 appearances with a L1 club, scoring 1 goal.... but Villa seem interested in Holgate it seems. The world of transfers is a crazy world my friend.
That tweet and article is basically - we want to sell him but offer us more money and hopefully start a bidding war. If clubs are in for Mason Holgate thats exactly what we should do.
