    Everton chairman Bill Kenwright revealed the club had invested £700,000 a year ago to acquire the player's "federative and economic rights" in an arrangement with Uruguayan club National Montevideo.

    We finally sign someone 6ft2" ... and he's a midfielder - class.

    I hope he's brilliant.
    At least he's got a proper Brazilian name - not Dennis or Trevor.
