What a game of football that was

Absolutely sen f.uking sational. Best I’ve seen from a Barnsley team since the play-off season. Best game I’ve seen since… Christ knows. I can’t remember the last time I saw the lead change hands 4 times in a game; maybe never. We were brilliant. Not only did every player run their blood to water, but we’ve got 3 or 4 genuine match winners. Devaney is as fast a player as I’ve seen for Barnsley. Shuker is twice the player now he has an end product to his game. And Hayes’ second was absolutely sublime. I’m not over egging it by saying it reminded me of Thierry Henry. It’s years since we’ve had a player that could do that. Someone recently claimed him to be the worst striker the club has ever had. What a load of absolute ****.

At the back Kay was immense, but the whole team were fantastic. Even Nicky Wroe, who has come on in leaps and bounds since I last saw him. And we were playing a decent team. Bradford are no mugs and have the best defensive record in the division. At 3-2 they looked the better team. But we don’t know when we’re beaten. If we play like that against some of the sides in this division we’ll get double figures.

I’ve had my faith in this club severely tested in recent months. That performance has gone a long way to help restore it.

Me hands are red raw from clapping. It’s been a long time since that happened.

Absolutely speechless, but not shocked at all, knew we had it in us.

    2005/2006, our season.

Bradford have the second best defensive record in the league, we have the best...and yet we managed to play out an 8 goal thriller?! Strange!

    nit picking like, but

Bradford have conceded 19, while we've conceded 20.

    Another weird fact:
Before today Bradford had scored 1 goal this season from 90 odd corners. We'd scored 1 from 113. (According to Bradford Telegraph and Argos) Tonight Bradford scored from 3 and we scored from 1.

Fair enough, before the Scunny game we had the best defence! I'm a bit behind and all.

Still, for 2 defences who have conceded 39 goals in 42 matches between them, it's quite extraordinary that they'd play out an 8 goal thriller, not that I'm complaining like!
