I spilled my tea on the keyboard of my Sony Laptop result 5 keys dont work. Tried all local repair centres finally PC Wurl said yes we'll mend it gave me a job number and an appointed time. marched in this morning after a 10 mile detour and they said 'we dunt repair laptops' Tried Sony Support and their support site keeps advising I download repair patches and other useless information, FFS. Hows that going to repair a keyboard. Anybody know a suitable repairer who would install a new keyboard ??????? :'( :'( :'(
This wont help much but I got a laptop keyboard repaired really easily Once on a flight to Taiwan knocked my G&T over keyboard of Tosh laptop with similar results once the guys in the Office there had stopped laughing one of them took me to a local PC shop where they just took a new keyboard off the shelf and installed it whilst I watched. only cost me about £20 as well So If you go Kaohsiung into the shopping Mall nearest the Linden Hotel - downstairs there is a PC repair shop .....
Can't be 100 percent certain but It may be fairly easy to sort for yourself. The casing around the keyboard often comes away and some retaining screws are frequently underneath. Each and every key has a small plastic spring built into it which strikes a sensor underneath, If the coffee has dried on the sensor then no contact will be made. I would take the offending keys out, get some electrical contact cleaner or at a push a small ammount of water on a Q tip and clean the contact then clean the spring on the key and if possible the surrounding areas. make sure the battery is out if you have to resort to water and make sure it is given time to dry bbefore trying it. Laptops are notorious for repair of the small things, some makes use their own screw and bolt head fittings so only a sprcial tool can get into them, but trying to get someone to sort it is often a nightmare or worse still too expensive to bother. Or you can try this place. if they can source the keyboard http://www.laptopexpress.com/produc...y=Sony Keyboard&product=Sony Laptop Keyboards
http://www.philspcbits.co.uk/ check this kid out hes really helpful and if he cant repair it he will give you number of a place in sheffield that will
You can try Pc Clinc on racecommon road he sorted mine out when i bugger the keyboard on my laptop but may take a week or so if he needs to order the parts.
Home contents insurance? Do it if you've never claimed - you're just paying fot everyone elses claims if not? Insurance companies don't replace things from their own money do they?
Thanks for the info I might buy a keyboard and try and put it in myself from the contacts you gave me. (Y) (Y)
