"The power of a positive support is a tool for any club," he said. "I'm never going to stand here and say to supporters that they have to come and watch our team. You have to give them a team that makes them go to the pub and tell their mates about and say 'the lads were great today - you've got to come along next week and watch them because you're fans at heart'. "If we can give them a winning team, scoring goals, creating entertainment, I'm sure they'll come back. I've managed a **** ******** ****** and it was full and daunting. If we can try and bring the supporters back who are in the pub, sitting at home or going shopping with their families, if we can rekindle their enthusiasm for the club, we can recreate an upward spiral of success. "Success breeds success and the more we win, the more supporters come back, the more revenue we get, the more money we can put back in the team, the better players you get, the more you win and it keeps going. We've had to break a negativity since coming back and maybe being here, the '86 thing, the local boy returning to this earthy, working-class area, can hopefully try and ignite that. But only winning football matches can turn it into a raging bonfire that you can't stop."
is that why ur staying away from the Well then kahtorse?? ur choosing to not put any money into the club, refusing to be a supporter, yet u come on ere quoting a manager of a different club. a club with money to throw at any problems. a club littered with internationals etc.. ur not a supporter. i am sick of reading stuff from stayaways like ur good self, who presume to have the answers.. October???
its like us having a day out at Alton Towers, and kahtorse who didnt go, telling us why it was garbage...
ORSENKAHT is correct i am afraid.................better have a manager who says that than Mr Hill who in so many words is saying the oakwell fans are a waste of space etc and we expect too much.... i bet he does not think we are are a waste of space when he is collecting his wages. why shouldn't we expect to be entertained....jeez that bloke is far up his own harris it's unreal. Orsenkaht talks a lot of sense in my opinion
what a complete surprise that is, WUM no1 theweed agreeing completely with what WUM no2 orsenprat says, tell me does it take long 4 you to keep loggin different accounts on and off just to make your posts seem more popular ? or is there a proper manlove relationship brewing on the bbs ?
yes there is a need for that.. have u actually read back to yourself the krap u two post? pure deedar mentality. ADHD i think n all.
Bit tetchy tonight, Whitey? Do you not think Mowbray's attitude that he will provide attractive football which will then be supported is more realistic than saying we'll cut the resources for the manager and team and hope that the supporters won't notice the diminution in quality? Or do you think that by cheering, come what may, you'll turn poor players into good ones? You're right about the "supporter" bit, by the way. I am a customer with an affinity for the club. But I'm not someone who will be served up rubbish and still buy some more. I haven't got "the answers", pal, but I'm damn sure they don't consist of increasing prices for an inferior product!
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah........... so you don't pay money to go and watch, therefore what makes you think that your opinion is worth anything? i have to listen to **** like you come out with on radio dee dar on the way home from the game and they haven't been to bumhole lane either.............
I can't work out if you're taking the **** with this ****** Tony Mowbray post or if you actually believe what you write. You keep banging on about the club and how **** everything is but you have withdrawn your support so what kind of fan does that make you? Things will never improve financially while ever we have so many stay away fans who moan but dont bother trying to help. Jeez I can't catch my breath.
