Barnsley fans are. Never happy. At the start of the season, if we would been offered our position and 5 points off the top on the 11th of January we'd have all took it, no doubt. But because we aren't playing like Chelsea then its not good enough.

I'm trying to get one of my mates who's never really been a big football fan involved in it all. I'm glad he was working last night because the atmosphere round me was truly shocking, it would have put him off. Christ, I've been going 15 years and it was enough to put me off.

I don't think people want us to play like Chelsea..

they just want us to try and pass to a Red shirt

    Yeah weird aren't we ?

Cos I for one love to see a Barnsley team defend their own penalty box against a pub team.

It's called frustration mate, comes with the territory.

I understand frustration, but we won last night.

We won despite having 3 first team defenders and a midfielder out, and then having to swap the team around twice during the match and losing another defender at half time.

And maybe if the crowd got behind the team a bit more instead of jumping on them at every turn, it might make them a bit more positive.

And booing Nardiello as he comes on? ffs.

Agree totally about booing and that. No excuse under any circumstances. But when we get a throw in adjacent to their penalty box and our midfield's stood on the half way line, then I think it's reasonable for the crowd to indicate that they'd like to see us press on.

I think folk are just getting pissed off with trhe defensive tactics employed when we go into a lead.

Maybe so and I can understand that. But I think its a viscous circle, the more the crowd get onto them, the more defensive they get and go into their shell, so the crowd get on to them more and etc, etc.

I think our one problem is putting the ball in the back of the net, if a couple of our many 'clear-cut' chances had gone in, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

    Now I'm fecking moaning!

We need every game to be like Oldham or Scunny, 3 up straight aweay and relax.

I'm just baffled why it's so obvious to the crowd that Barnsley are at their best when attacking, yet the manager gets them to defend leads.

It's this defensive mindset that causes the drop in confidence. We have attack minded players told to defend, and despite our goals against record, to me, they don't look comfortable doing it. Still, win every game 1-0 and we're there. However, play like last night v Swansea, Brentford etc and we'll get a pasting imho.

Fear of losing? Its like at the start of the season and everone was saying how ***** the premiership was. The fear of losing was greater than the want to win.

    I'm talking ***** now.
