I thoroughly enjoyed what was my first game of the season. Every lad out there playing for Barnsley gave 100% for the cause. We played some stylish football at times and Schmeichel had to bring off a couple of superb saves. I don't think anyone had a bad game. However, I'd like to give a special mention to the midfield triumvirate of Perkins, Drinkwater & Butterfield. All three were outstanding, in my opinion, always wanting the ball, never hiding and looking to create something going forwards. A big well done to Keith Hill and all the lads.
agree 100% with that BigLil. My mate came with me today, his first game in years....sez he's getting a season ticket next year
Great game to watch, I thought their keeper was man of the match a couple of excellent saves. I would not have given any one of our team the award, I would have given it to ALL of them.
Spot on that mate No better advert for the football club really than that performance today. A bit gutted we couldn't quite grab the win which we deserved, but I can't pick fault at any of them today and as you say, that midfield, especially now with Drinkwater in the middle of it, looks much more threatening. We've to play like that against the Peterborough's and Doncaster's now, as well as the Leicester's and (hopefully) Birmingham's.
Re: you missed out done kev, think he's a very tidy footballer Spot on, mate. I think we've picked up a bargain there. I'm really impressed with him.
Re: you missed out done kev, think he's a very tidy footballer 100% Agree with that Kev! Best i'v seen Barnsley play since probably the Leeds match last season!
"triumvirate" Where you pulled that one from? Have u been thinking how to use that word all day kev??
Re: you missed out done kev, think he's a very tidy footballer Quick mention for o'brien as well - put some good crosses in and looked comfortable on the ball - good forward play by Gray who held the ball up well
Well said Kev. A cracking team performance and a game we should have won. If we play like that at home we will win many more than we lose.
