Shame about the low crowd but those that were there have seen a really good, dominating display. It's no good saying it was "only Burton Albion" but they could easily have scored before us and put us off our stride. It's already been mentioned that Turnbull pulled off two excellent saves to keep it at 0-0 but after that he didn't have much to do. Going through the team:

Cranie - master class in right full back play. Cool defending and classy going forwards. Had Winnall not scored three he would have been a contender of MoM
Ramage and Nyatanga - the partnership looks solid with experience and physical presence the perfect combination. Please PLEASE Palace - let us keep Ramage!
Dudgeon - a bit up and down. I was thinking this was one of his less good days, but he didn't do anything wrong that I remember. Has too much of a tendency to turn backwards but then, as others have said, better to keep the ball than hoof it aimlessly
Berry - lots of praise from everyone for him today. The lad is a gem - a real find. He just gets everywhere and is as good a defensive midfielder as an attacking one
Bailey - like Berry, always involved. Skill oozing out of his boots
Hourihane - quietish game but a rasping shot which the keeper saved well and then, a couple of minutes later, he slots one in. Again, another great find
Williams - not his best game but you have to love his enthusiasm and work rate.
Trotta - liked the look of him. Skill on the ball and not afraid to shoot. Like Winnall he might take several games to get up to speed
Winnall - what can I say that hasn't already been said? You didn't really notice him much today yet he pops up with a hat trick. Super Sammy Winnall in every respect!

I knew Cole was going to get on to terrorise them and he did, twice. Once a perfect goal across the keeper and again a few minutes later but he was caught slightly offside. Not much in it, but what a great player to bring on.
Lita - not much time to shine but he somehow untangled his legs to get the ball to Cole for the fifth. Good, unselfish play from Leroy
Treacey - infuriating! Looks the part but can't seem to be bothered. Is he saying to the manager "if I can't play from the start I don't want to"? If he is then he needs shipping out. There is a good player in there but I somehow don't think we will get to see it

The Burton fans (well, those who know something about football) will have been envious looking at the standard of our first eleven and then our bench. They were playing a proper "big club" today, in a good stadium. We were so far ahead of them today that it was more like three divisions, not just one. What a shame there weren't another 10,000 in the ground to make it even better.
