After that absolutely disgraceful first 70 minutes, we drag ourselves back into it and into the tie. Roberts then makes a brilliant stop, only for everyone to then just watch the resulting corner fly in to, I strongly suspect, kill the tie. Our defending genuinely makes me want to weep.
We are so poor at defending it’s shocking. Can’t see us getting anything now and have to say we aren’t good enough.
Bizarre. I thought their player was stopping Roberts from coming out and looked at first viewing like a foul on the keeper. However, how have we gone from two defenders on the posts and at least one player on the halfway line as an outlet, to a box full of defenders and no one on the posts? Defies logic..
Bolton didn’t have to play that well tonight and still managed to put three past us, fair play we gave it a good go for 20 minutes and nearly nicked another goal but that third goal from the corner has killed it but can’t say I’m that disappointed it was pretty much expected.
Statistics say that on average teams concede slightly fewer goals direct from corners when everyone is back and slightly fewer again with nobody on the posts. However people aren't statistics but the coaches who were all coached by the same people to the same curriculum under the same guidelines all adopt the same tactics because they're taught that statistics are infallible and that they must follow the guidelines. Coaching badges as brought in 25 years ago has killed football
Time for some renegade to turn the clock back then Supertyke? would genuinely love to see the Wimbledon of old take on Peps Man City. Don’t know how it would pan out but it would make for an interesting game for sure.
