Hourihane made it look worse than it was, probably worth a booking though.

Not much in it but I thought there was meant to be an implementation of the any raised hands rule meaning a straight red.

Hourihane went down like a sack of spuds. Quite embarrassing how he laid on the floor for five minutes. It was all handbags.

Threw, past tense of throw. Or as my 5 year old would probably say throwed, I would correct her of course.

I'm not even convinced he touched Hourihane & if he did it was in the chest.

It was pretty pathetic what Hourihane did yesterday, going down holding his face to get O'Brien sent off. Reminded me of Rivaldo against Turkey in the 2002 world cup

To me looked like he grabbed Hourihane both hands on his shirt and dragged him to the floor. Hourihane was blocking him taking a quick throw which is exactly what we need players to do. Not sure if he caught his face but I've seen sending off's for less.

Was obstucting O brian from taking a quick throw then went down like Aston Villa appear to be doing rolling around all very embarrassing. Ref got that one right could have booked them both. Hourihane for bad acting and O brian for reacting to the obstructing.

I was shouting at him to get back up at the time. From where I was sat, they were both at it, to get to the ball. Conor had handful of his shirt and the bloke just flung him off. Nowt in it. Conor just went down like a girl. Embarrassing to even book a player for that.

Whilst the laws may appear black and white, the offences quite often aren't and therefore the referee has to judge each case individually. In this case he got it right. Hourihane started it by trying to obstruct the players throw in and he reacted. Could have been a yellow for both but nothing more. Most of them baying for blood cos they thought Hourihane was hard done by were in the Ponty End and too far away to see what really happened.
