Got a link to the fight but don't have sound on the office computer!!!! Not throwing enough punches for me, and he'll never get a decision on points over there
From the limited amount of the fight I've been able to see, Haye looks to have thrown about four punches with any real purpose. Have to do a lot better than this.
I don't think Haye has won a round yet He needs to step up to the plate, poor performance so far, offering nothing in terms of attack
I don't see how he can do anything different.. He does have to try and throw a few more punches but this guy is just ridiculous. I'm trying to work out how that one guy managed to beat him.
RE: I don't see how he can do anything different.. Not sure, but dodging and weaving won't win the fight. Upped it a bit in the last few seconds of the last couple of rounds, but it's not enough for a challenger. He's got to land a few shots. Valuev's a lumbering hulk of a fighter. Haye should be able to get in and out with some regularity, but he's scared of walking onto one of his jabs. They'd floor an elephant.
Much better round... It depends what you want to see really. Haye's got tactics and is landing when he comes in. Valuev is swinging like a lumbering idiot and missing with nearly every shot.
He needs to find the angles better He's too scared of getting hit which is forcing him to stand out of harms way. Landing three bombs every couple of rounds doesn't win you the Heavyweight title in Germany
RE: He needs to find the angles better I do wish he'd stop dropping that left hand. A quick fighter is going to really expose that one day.
Its quite close for me... but I'd rather have Haye win this and get the title off Valuev, because his fights must all be the same.
RE: Its quite close for me... I'd love him to win it, but as Loko said, I doubt it's enough on the showing so far. He's gone out not to get beaten, not to fight him. Hard, I accept, but judges will be looking for aggression. Not really seen any.
Haye's won the last three for sure Much better, but even if he wins the last two I see it being very, very close - and in Germany very, very close means you've lost
What is it judged on though? Because a lot of these shots from Valuev wouldn't have connected if he was aiming at 3 men, let alone 1.
RE: What is it judged on though? If it's judged on skill, Haye's won it by a mile, but he hasn't hurt Valuev, and he's been going backwards all the fight. They'll give it to Valuev on 'intent'.
Bernard Hopkins V's Joe Calzaghe The agressor should always get the decision. But like I've said before, champions don't lose on points in Germany
RE: Bernard Hopkins V's Joe Calzaghe Agreed. And it does look like Valuev's commanded the ring. Haye has been skirting round, Valuev's barely moved from the middle. Genuinely surprised if this goes against tradition. Great last round though.
