Ben told us that when we went from the Championship to League One we went from being a 10M turnover business to being a 5M turnover business. It's probably not pro-rata, but I'd guess that with another relegation to League Two (which is going to happen unless something changes pretty soon) then we'd probably drop to somewhere around 3-4M. I certainly think the crowd would drop 25%, which might cost us 0.6M alone. You'd imagine merchandising, catering and sponsorship would all suffer in consequence. So when people say we couldn't afford to sack another manager, it has to be viewed against that backdrop. I'm not pushing one way or the other. But without a decisive change in tack we're looking at relegation, possible loss of the better players (Hourihane, Scowen, Mawson?) and a recruitment drive at Conference level or lower. We have to hope that White and Colace might make a difference. I certainly hope so. But you can't get away from the fact that one is a 31 year old who's been out of the game for two years, while the other can't get in a Championship side that are five points adrift of safety. These are glum days.
Great post However you must be wrong because the silent Mr B Mansford (lost his tongue recently) and the total silence coming from Jokewell indicates all is well. And we all know that Mr B Mansford and co do know best. Hth you Mester Kaht
