For us to beat Bradford on Saturday with Ladbrokes? Can't find anything on their website apart from our title odds at 14/1.

    Thanks.

Ta muchly. I take it this is all online betting?

Evens....so, as a rookie to betting, if I put a fiver on us to win at evens, how much would I get back?

SM ? where are you ?

I think you'd get your stake back and another fiver.

You might be better popping into Billy Hills or somewhere - they'll quote you odds on results.

Ah right, well I've never been a betting man until now, so I'm just trying to get the hang of it. A fiver a week on the reds winning...the way things are going I shouldn't lost much money at all!

I was thinking if it was evens I'd just get my fiver back, which doesn't seem worth it!

    I'll bump it up.

You win a fiver.....as well as your original stake back.
I'd bet online if I was you so you can shop around for better prices.
Betfair is worth looking at. Maybe a bit confusing to a rookie but you can basically bet on ANYTHING.

    RE: You double your stake

How does it all work then?

Do I have to give them by bank details and everything? And if they let me have a free £10 bet at first, do I keep all my winnings or do they take £10 back off me?

A simple, idiot proof explaination of how all this online betting works would REALLY help.

    evens is 2.0 in decimal

as it includes your stake per pound.

    2.0 = 2 X 50 = £10.

To get your decimal divide your odds and add 1. eg. 4/1 = 5. Put a diver on and get 25 back. Easy squeezy.

I've registered on Paddy Power, but nowhere does it say about a free £10 bet. It's asking me to transfer some money from my bank across.

    You create a betting account

They will add the tenner into the account you set up as soon as you've registered. then, you can add funds from your own bank account online as and when required.

    jump in. both feet.

Put your free tenner on Kauto Star at sandown on saturday, hacks up.

    Thanks, SM.

I'll see if they've put the tenner in...not very good odds for us on Saturday though...put a tenner on and I'll only get an extra £9! Better than nowt of course, but they're not the best odds.

Shop around, you should be able to find a website offering free bets etc...

    Will Hill
    Ladbrokes
    Bet 365
    Tote

There's plenty to choose from. I actually prefer to bet online cos at least then I can keep track of how much I lose.....and boy do I lose!!

Well, my plan was a fiver each week on the reds to win to get started...and they way they're doing recently I wouldn't lose too much money!

If I bet online then and I win...do they automatically transfer my winnings into my bank account?

    Thanks for everyone's help...fingers crossed I don't go broke!

Is that a good bet then? What are the odds? And is it a genuine contender?

No it'll go into your betting account, you can then transfer the money into your bank account.

Paddy Power gives me the option to "withdraw" I'm guessing that is to withdraw money from my betting account back into my bank account, with "deposit" being the opposite?
