Mrs Burgundy Red is due to be travelling up to Glasgow via the M1 and Scotch Corner tomorrow morning in order to get her 94-year-old aunt back in time for an eye operation on Monday, otherwise I'd tell her to postpone for a few days. How safe is it looking up there around Yorkshire this morning? And before anyone asks then Yes, I know how to use Google, I'm just looking to supplement it with some good old first-hand up-to-the-minute opinion.
No sign of snow here in Dundee. I believe that Scotland escaped the worst of it all. I'd imagine the roads could still be slippy as we had a hard frost. She should be ok as long as she takes it easy.
Thanks Sparky but I'm not making it to Perth I'm afraid, hence the need for Mrs B R to drive back north tomorrow. Her Dad was taken into hospital last weekend so we drove back down from Glasgow to Northants to make sure all was OK with him. He's fine now and out of hospital but now I'm back down here for the duration so I'm missing my big day out with arabian_ian. Christmas always seems to be like this in the Burgundy Red household but it all turned out OK in the end, albeit 350 miles from the intended location. The footie will still be there another day.
Hmm a wee bit controversial here, you previously posted, and I quote. "Well I'm in Leeds but there's zero evidence that there ever was any snow last night."
This morning there is zero evidence that it snowed last night (except the scratch along our windscreen).
Seriously? Once we set off last night it started near Wetherby and just got worse all the way back. It was a proper blizzard by the time we hit Barnsley.
