..is that we now have FIVE full-backs, Hassell, Bruma, Hecky, Kozluk & Werling and only TWO centre halves (Reid & Atkinson). What the **** has BFC got against signing a commanding centre-half for christ sake? We've been waiting bloody years for one ! Don't give me the Hassell / Kozluk moving inside option they're both under 5'10" and aint gonna solve the problem. Don't get me wrong, Kozluk is quality at this level but the German signing I just do not understand. We're still a keeper, centre half, left winger & striker short imho. One less full back would have improved the budget for these positions. I also hope that any more signings come from these shores. Last time we flooded the squad with unknown foreigners we ended up regretting it. Two or three ok but half a dozen from different parts of the globe is a major gamble. I'm hard to please I know (miserable git really). Opinions please?
Now that would be great signing. Think he'll end up at Hull I'm afraid with the money they've got to chuck at it.
Not so concerned about the full back scenario, we've signed three but have lost one (Austin) are about to lose another (Williams) and had one on loan (Eckersley) last season and this was a real priority area to strenghthen in. I agree about the need for a centre half and think two are needed, minimum. Other priorities in your list are spot on. However, I'm encouraged (hopefully not deluding myself) by the activity so far that Davey knows where the weaknesses are and the club is trying to get people in to address them.
The signings so far tell me that Davey is addressing the problem areas - there's no way he doesn't realise we need more strength at CB and a keeper.
I'm sure those signings will come - for me it's so far so good and if we're patient the rest will follow.
I may look a pillock at season's end but the more I see and hear of Mr Davey the more I warm to him.
