What criteria do you think Davey should have fulfilled for people to have been happy with our start?

3 wins, 2 wins and a draw, unbeaten? Would only heavy goalscoring wins have been acceptable? Just wondering like. Ta </p>

I'd have been happy with 4 points....

from 3 very average teams and 2 of them at home, expected to lose at Weds, draw with Cov and beat Preston.
I don't think that expectation was particularly high.

Its already been said, the depressing thing is its the same old same old, 3 seasons on, faces change on the pitch but the performances don't.

Maybe something better than 1 point from 3 games and two abject home defeats would have done. Ta.

at least 3pts by now with a couple (1xleft sided def 1xgoal poacher) of extra signings.

Or maybe having a shot against Coventry.

Minimum 1 win.
4 points would have been fine, and should have been acheivable against the opposition we've faced.

 

It seems you feel I'm trying to defend something or someone...

I'm simply trying to stimulate debate and ask a sensible question. If we'd have played well in the games but still have been on the same points would we be getting the same reaction from people?

Fair point - would you have been happy if we'd scraped a win and played the way we have or is it just about points? Personally I was brim full of confidence after Wednesday and Lincoln away, but concerned about how some of our better players were performing, namely JCR and lacking cover at the back.

Don't think there is one. People would just be saying it was a flash in the pan and papering over the cracks. Some will never accept him because of the way he was appointed. It's that under current of discontent, always bubbling away just under the surface, that isn't conducive to a good working atmosphere.

Im pretty sure some people on here wouldnt have been happy if we had taken 9 points from 9 and are clearly having a field day to have a good old moaning session at the moment.

Wonder how long it will take them before they get on the next guys back. 3 games?

 

We shouldn't have conceded five goals at home yet.

The come back at Wednesday is a double edged sword - we should never have put ourselves in a position where we had that deficit to over come.

Getting beaten in a lacklustre performance at home to Coventry was disappointing - but to reiterate the experience with nobs on against Preston was dreadful. Having conceded seven goals in two matches is a major concern, but it is compounded by the fact that we don't look like we know what we're doing at the other end of the pitch (or perhaps in any area of the pitch).

If at this stage we'd taken four points we'd probably be more than happy. That being said if we'd lost against Coventry 1-0 - having thrown the kitchen sink at them, and then suffered a similar fate against Preston - and it was clear that we had a system, and some momentum that would carry us through - you'd probably cope with that. Sadly what we have is very empty - and we look like we going to get a hiding in every game that Davey remains in charge.

 

Why is it that any suggestion that the manager is not performing

and it is seen as being moaning and an attack on the club?

I clearly meant that no matter what they were against Davey from the off this season, rightly so probably despite PC giving Davey his backing but hey ho.

Frankly im bored of it all now and hope you get the new manager you so crave so that i can stop reading the constant moaning till we arent doing **** all under another manager.

We conceeded 7 in 3 games - still painfull however.

I never said in the first place it was having a pop at the club - just that people seemed to be loving the chance to have a good old moan - it shows from the repeated threads with people all congratulating each other in threads on how **** simon davey is etc.
