    Serious question.

Sounds to me like the same old thing...

I wasn't there but my only real problem with Davey in the matches I've been to this season has been his stubbornness in not making changes until the match is dead. From what I've read it looks like he did it again last night.

Did not believe in his players ability to win the game against a very one dimensional opposition.

He had hoped to nick a goal in the first half when we were the better side without creating that much but in the second we gave up attacking unless it was on the break or until the last five minutes when the game was lost.

Hammill should have been on much earlier and I'd have taken Anderson off.

It was nil nil with 10 minutes to go when he brought on Hammill, who hasn't played in nearly a month. They scored shortly after.

What's up with that? They're 3rd in the league, to think that if we'd attacked them last night we'd have definately won is a little naive.

    In my opinion like.

On what was in front of us on the night, regardless of their league position we could have won the game had we believed in our ability and not simply feared theirs.

Bringing Hammill on was almost a negative substitution as we went to one up front and by that stage Macken was knackered after leading the line well. largely alone. If we had tried to give them something to deal with in Hammill the result could have been different. We had two fast players on the field late on and it cried out for us to get wide and attack them.

Possibly when they were starting to get on top in the 2nd half he could've changed things to give us an outlet up front - the ball was just coming straight back when we cleared it. But in the full context of the game not a lot imho.</p>

Left it alone for far too long.

All the half-decent teams have a Manager who watches the First-Half, weighs things up then makes changes accordingly to suit how the game's going. Usually they step it up a gear and take the game to us. Davey doesn't.

"If we're level at Half-Time, we must be doing ok so let's carry on as we are! We've got a point if it stays like this so that's alright then."

    No, Simon, it bloody isn't!!!

in the second half we were under a lot of pressure.
At that time most fans on this board were crying out for Davey to bring on Hammill.
A few mins later (before they scored) - he did EXACTLY THAT.
    - just what most fans wanted.

now it seems that doing what most fans wanted is erm, not what most fans wanted.

    Couldve made a change earlier

and Idve left Mifsud on and brought on Hammill for Macken, thought he did well when he came on, and we are all experts and know better.

Reality is we shouldve beaten Forest, and now we are in the ****. Davey can do owt abart players missing penalties. JCR owes the team a match winning performance.

You can't seriously be suggesting that bringing Hammill on was the reason they scored? I know you don't know much about football Dice, but Jesus Christ on a bike that's about the stupidest thing I've heard from last night. They were going to score at some point, it's just unfortunate it happened after the substitution.

By the way, he subbed Mifsud for him, who was **** (as usual), and didn't do much defending. So that theory is just stupid.

The way i saw things was...

that Sheffield United didn't turn up untill about 60 minutes in, and were really there for the taking. Colace should have been taken off at half time for Hammill IMHO, because he never took a touch, hit everything first time and up in the air a lot too. Bogdanovic should have been on a lot earlier than what he was, ok in the short space of time he was on he scored and caused problems but didn't have long enough to overturn a 2 goal deficit. Fair enough the Blunts are 3rd in the league, but if they play like they did for 75 minutes last night for the rest of the season, they're not going anywhere and Reading for one will destroy them on Friday unless they step up there game. We just can't play with 3 defensive midfielders and JCR on a free roll. JCR needs to be on one wing, Hammill on the other and two of Andranik, Anderson and Colace in the centre, on current form i'd drop Colace because i just haven't seen what everyone else seems to see in him, he's been poor since the new year for me, my opinion like but he just gets rid of the ball instead of taking a touch and looking up, he loses his man way too easy and backs out of everything.

He should have taken Anderson and Mifsud off and brought Hammill and Boggy on after aboiut 70minutes when they started getting on top of us. At least then we would have been able to make them thinking about defending instead of wave after wave of attacks.

    Speculation !

Fans can come on here and say anything they like. And they are never wrong because their theories are never tested.
    It's just as well.

    Exactly

It's called freedom of speech and everyone's entitled to it, whether it be someone believing Simon Davey did nothing wrong last night or someone who thought he did. One opinion is just as valid as another.
Unless, of course, someone believes that the only people who are entitled to voice their opinions are those who 'in the game'. I don't.

There is one certain person on here that thinks I should not have an opinion.

The fool cant see that because of him I am still posting, I was going to go away ages ago, but I now do it just to annoy him.
