I mean what does it actually mean to you in terms of how you live your life? There are obviously a lot of people who have lost their jobs because of it so I think its pretty obvious how its affected them but what about the rest of us? What has the recession meant to you personally?
nothing really.....lucky to have a secure job, mortgage gone down due to lower interest rates. only thing different is cost of petrol and supermarket prices. still watching what i spend on though.....you never know whats around the corner.
I would normally be jumping ship right now Moving on to bigger and better. But seriously thinking about sitting tight for a while
Personally, not a lot. Have carried on living and spending exactly the same as usual. If the people in work all did this, would this help the recovery get under way? (pint) (pint) (pint)
I work in an industry badly affected by the housing market, you only live once, enjoy it, dont wory about what might be....

6 months now out of work, but glad to say more positions come available in the last 2 weeks for the type of work that I do! Other than that, just watching every penny that we spend at the moment
Lost approaching 6 figures in paper money due to reduction in property prices, missus made redundant this time last year more than halving our salaried income, down to my last 12 suits, 1 holiday a year and non vintage champagne, as Big Ron would say. Renewed in May mind.
But you do get.... that all important bond holders discount, so I guess P Riddy has helped you after all...
Imagine my glee if we got promoted back to the Prem and I could collect my £300. I reckon I'd spend it on a full page advert in the Chronicle, showing my bare arse.
Getting my first ever pay cut, worrying about a job when you are in a foreign country is quite nerve racking!

that should only affect you if you were needing to move a house is something you live in, not an investment unfortunately many problems these days are caused by people seeing their house as a goldmine rather than their home at the end of the day, if you can afford the repayments each month then why care how much it is worth?
Cheers gentlemen Interesting reading. Another quick question. Is someone with no debts better or worse off in a recession? Assuming for a moment that their job is guarenteed, will they be financially better or worse off?
