Looked like a fella was saying a few things out of order that Hill/Flicker took exception to. Then when we scored and it kicked off again and ended up the bloke leaving. Good performance today, really enjoyed it. Drinkwater was top notch with Perkins and thought the new lad on wing looked good. But massive praise for Steve Foster - rock. As good a performance from him that I can remember. top notch.
I dont know what was said but they definitely had a go after the goal. Stress and tempers flared. Nowt much in it really, but I am certain we will be hearing about it for weeks!!! I thought that Drinkwater was very good, Park looked good in the first half, but faded a bit, Butterfield looked good too, cant bloody shoot theouh lol! Perkins does a lot of running and he seemed to drift in and out of the game, Foster looked as good as I have seen him and again I thought that Gray played very well. Never looked like we could score many goals though, we will have to get the shooting boots out soon.
I sit in East Upper so obviously didnt hear it but i commented to the missus that it looked like Hill was having a arguement with a fan in stand!
It was very strange. I was sat in the West Lower, but a bit further towards the Ponty from the "incident" so I can't be 100% sure on what exactly went on but clearly Hill and Flicroft were involved in a fair old disagrement with with a fan, telling him to **** off and calling him a ***** (it didn't take much lip reading!). Then a few more fans got involved (on Hills side it seemed) and eventually this fan got taken away by a steward. A few things struck me a strange: 1) Why, when we were playing well, was this fan having a pop? 2) Why is the manager and assistant of our club getting involved in arguments with supporters while the game is actually going on? 3) It happened twice and the timing of both incidents was bizarre. The first came after a really good passage of play and second after OUR goal . . . I don't know what that was all about!
Re: It was very strange. Why would a fan want to behave like that after today's performance. It beggars belief.
There is no way they would have started the exchange and while maybe they should have just ignored the moron it is very hard to bite your lip at times. I just don't get why anybody would want to get into an argument with Hill after today's performance. There was just no reason to start abusing the manager today.
Re: It was very strange. Remember sitting near the dug out last year and some ming-mong was shouting at Robins to get some sub on, Robins just looked at the guy and gestured for him to come and taker Robins place, priceless.
