we set off in the first 30 seconds like we were going to do it and then as soon as southampton put pressure on us we changed to a more 3 passes and hoof style.

Southampton played today the way I was expecting us to. But we just didn't look confortable doing it.

I was prepared to be patient and not urge them to go forwards but at the times we did try to keep the ball we were forever going backwards. Too many players getting the ball facing our own goal.

there was a time when Doyle got the ball in acres of space and inforunt of him davies too was in space, he had time top turn go forwards and play the pass, but without thinking he passed it in the direction he was facing, back towards goal.

on the other hand Many times southampton player would check back, stop, put their foot on the ball and play a good ball forwards. Playing keep ball isn't all about going back to your goalkeeper.

At the moment our game plan seems to be, with we stop you from scoring we will draw 0-0. We could maybe have snatched a goal in the end but wouldn't have deserved it

I think Hill is overly concerned with keeping clean sheets!

Perhaps we did not put them under enough pressure? Which is what Hill said

Too many players are not comfortable with a passing game, not smart enough to pass and then make space for a return pass not confident enough to take opponents on and too quick to pass and let somebody else take responsibility.
