Bull **** Ben told button moon head that we'd get our money in instalments when Everton get their payment that'll be in instalments, apparently Everton owe Chelsea £21M still because they're paying the £28 million they owe in 4 instalments, so if the just wipe the £21 million off as part of the transfer fee how will we get money it could drag on forever

Re: What happens to our Stones sell on fee if Everton don't receive any cash for him

I've no idea if their are no contracts wrote up for when payments should be paid I've not got a clue when we'd get our money ? Obviously if Chelsea where paying cash we'd get it when they paid but what happens if they don't pay for him, they'll be no dates set out, so do we have to rely on our board reaching a agreement with Everton? If so we'll never get paid well bend over again and let them do what they want

Sure there was a thread addressing this topic a couple of weeks ago.

It doesn't matter if they write off part of what they owe, that's still consideration so they'll still owe us a percentage of it. The time of payment will be written in whatever agreement we have with Everton.

Could be worse than you think

What if Everton and Chelsea say 'OK you owe us £21M for Lukaku, so sell us Stones for £9M and we'll write off the debt for Lukaku'.

    Poor old us then get say 10-15% of £9M (£900K - £1.3M)

    Chelski no worse off.
    Everton save 10-15% of £21M (c.£2.5M)

Re: Could be worse than you think

Stones will have still cost Chelsea 30 million so that's what our sell on percentage would be based on and not the 9 million if the debt was written off. We wouldn't be out of pocket and Everton in pocket as that would be us being penalised and Everton getting away with not paying off a debt.

Everton don't actually pay us anything. It's Chelsea what would be giving us the money.

Chelsea: 'Hello, i'll take One John Stones please.'

Everton: 'That would be £30 million please.'

Chelsea: 'Wow, thats cheap. Might have to get a couple.'

Everton: 'Sorry, he's the last one, you might be able to get one from Barnsley for £3.50'

Chelsea: 'I'll have a look then, they did create John Stones so they must have someone better or just as good.'

Everton: 'Oh and before you give us the £30 million, 15% has to go to Barnsley'

    Chelsea: 'Ok thank you.'

It would depend entirely on the drafting of the sell on clause in the contract between the clubs. I would be stunned if it leaves us open given that it is such a common clause.

Let's be right though, it wouldn't be the first time somebody had been "stunned" by the ineptitude of our transfer dealings....
