Sometimes when you show up in a game you get more stick than a player thats spent most of the game offside.

Ok then, so what did Defoe do that Heskey didn't?

not saying he isn't, he's world class, but he didn't have the best of first halves, which is when i posted.

    Nowt

but then again he faced a more defensive croatian setup and an England rather less hungry.

If he'd got the chances Heskey was presented with I reckon he'd have bagged a brace.

I'm not a defoe fan either.

He'd be in my England team every time. Complete player who never gives up and has a phenomenal scoring record for his country

Rooney has been labelled as a player to stop by the Croatians and Bilic, along with chief scout Goran Vucevic, believe they must put a plan in place to do so.

“Rooney is England’s real danger,” said Vucevic.

“He is literally wild for the entire 90 minutes, constantly seeking contact and physical challenges. He is technically phenomenal, agile and awkward to play against.

I would be interested to see the Stats for the game but...

I reckon Rooney did more running than Heskey, certainly he was tackling the Croatian right winger in the left back position at one point. He scored a goal and set another one up. He is Englands geniune "world class" player who would get in most other countries sides unlike Heskey, although I do like Heskey, he ain't as good as Rooney, fact!!

I thought ossetred and FatLad were being ironic at first

    Obviously not

Next thing we'll be getting "Odejayi should be the first name on the team sheet"

rooney wasnt in the game heskey was, for me rooney should have come off for defoe. even though heskey was not doing enough to infront of goal at least he was getting into those positions !

What and let Kayode Heskey miss consecutive one-on-one chances?

Absolutely not, he was right to bring Heskey off and leave Rooney on.

Who got the 5th goal again?
