Is why anyone thinks him playing for a team in Poland, whether champions or not, would get him noticed?!

I can really see Hiddink going to watch Wisla Krakow, oh aye. He's as much chance of recognition at Barnsley. If they were in the Champions League or something before the World Cup, that could be slightly different.

It's a load of rubbish... to me it's a smokescreen for something else.

Ritchie says it could be his best chance. I'm sure there are some Aussie internationals in the Championship. If we get there it might give him a chance...but not for this world cup.

Must be more to it cos Burns was on about wanting to go back to Oz either at end of this season or next...bust up likely?

    The thing is...

If we lose him at the end of the season, we can sign a replacement who is as good or better I would have thought. However, losing him now as we chase promotion would be ridiculous and there's no way in my opinion that we'll get someone better on loan.

Even if he's leaving at the end of the season, if he's got ambition to play at a higher level of some sort, he'll play his heart out till the end of the season...

I don't want to suggest there's anything untoward going on, as that'd almost be like the English press trying to cause problems in the England camp before World Cups, but you have to wonder don't you?

I was thinking the same. Becasue his contract is expiring, maybe his agent has made a few phone calls.

Maybe it's not so much about getting noticed, but rather playing on a higher level. I don't know how good polish football is, but I would think the highest league in Poland is of a higher level than League One in England. Hiddink probably already knows who Burns is, but it will be easier for him to include him in the australian squad if he shows that he can to well in Wisla as well.

I cant see Richie letting him go mid season, but he has gave Burns the opertunity to have the trail. Burns will replay the favour by playing out of his skin untill the end of the season (a) a fairwell t well) (b)Impress a new club?

ritchie will do exactly what GS tells him to do

if GS says he can go, believe me, he will go, no matter how hard Ritchie argues or paddies.

I think GS has backed all the manager all the way if you ask me. If we can pull in a decent amount of cash well i'd let him go.

I'm not arguing that GS doesn't back the manager up....BUT

when push comes to pull GS has the final say, NOT Ritchie.
