is how can the football club allow the Star paper to take on distributing tickets to anyone who comes along when in another breath they didnt want to sell via phone for fear of anyone ie other fans getting hold of them? Also how come some ST holders who have stuck with the club and parted with their cash up front for years now ended up in a free for all for tickets in this way. Principles and priorities are something that BFC appear to have forgotten as they cash in on a bit of glory. As much as i can see it being a good idea to charter a train i can only feel some people who arent able to get their tickets yet or who camped out for hours on end have been given a kick in the teeth! Im sure the club and many of you probably dont give a toss (notably those who have their tickets in their hands) but IF we lose the final and are stuck in Div 3 for years to come will all those 20,000 fans be there cheering them on vs Leyton Orient etc? As usual in football loyalty counts for sod all! Sorry but the chaos at this club has really left a nasty taste in the mouth! Rant over!
all tickets should be centrally distrubted by internet and phone by the football league at no charge ti the clubs with none available at the ground. because anyone can use a phone / internet. only problem with this would be how to stop non season ticket holders from buying tickets early, the special vouchers would have to have a special playoff final voucher. with a code on it. give this code over the phone. then you could even get the exact seat you want if doing it by phone. on the net you could choose a certain block or something. it cant be that hard to do.
Yep and the football league apparantly take a rather large cut of the pie when money is dished out for these play offs. In any other business the customer would be put first but its football isnt it and BFC have managed along with the authorities to balls it up. Sorry but it had to be said
so what you want is 5500 reds fans at Cardiff......... because no one else deserves to go.</p> Get real, we need as many outlets as we can to sell them. You'll get a ticket, stop fretting.</p>
Quote from Swansea site "We must stress that our season ticket holders and Premier club members are being offered the best seats available"
Of course i want 20000+ there but the club should prioritise. Those who have been ST holders for years and years are treated like crap. Would you be happy if after being told you had priority on getting tickets to find someone (without a ST) had just walked in front of you at the queue bought a unknown? number of tickets and then flogged them all onto anyone who rang them up? Well thats what the Star has apparantly done. No need to queue! no limit to tickets! If you think this is fair then fine. I think it stinks. Something like this could have been set up when the tickets went on open sale on Monday if you are worried about numbers for the game!
RE: how would they prevent people using the same code more than once? can only be used once, they have a database of these codes and once used it is locked.
RE: so what you want is 5500 reds fans at Cardiff......... i reckon they would sell more this way! just stick the phone number in the chron and on the website etc. would save loads of time, for everyone. surely theres plenty of call centre's to handle this. why not use the call centre the millennium stadium normally use, after all i bet most of their ticket sales for gigs etc will be on the net and by phone and they sell out in minutes if demand is there. so why does football stay behind the times?
i am not moaning i'm not going to moan because in the end the majority of people will get tickets who want them, i'm just saying it could be made way easier.
I don't think... ...you appreciate how difficult it will be to shift 29,000 tickets at this level. Even with the most optimistic forecasts, Season Ticket Holders will struggle to snaffle half the allocation. That leaves plenty for all the 'hard luck' cases, most of whom can also take advantage of the Star offer. I can't see anyone who is able to use even the slightest initiative actually missing out.
if you got your way and the star couldn't put their tickets on sale until monday and you decided to buy your ticket late sunday afternoon, you may find that the other 5499 season ticket holders have exercised their right to buy their 4 tickets before you and therefore 16497 none season ticket holders will have beaten you to a ticket. </p> You can't have both ways</p>
Dont really understand the point you are trying to make I am quite happy for ST holders to get priority. Of course they want to take their partners and kids etc so i think 4 was a sensible limit. Why the club couldnt handle 6,000 applications via phone/in person for tickets over 4 days i dont know. Then the free for all on the Monday onwards and fine if they want to distribute via the Star thats ok cos all ST holders have had the opportunity being ST holders to get 4 tickets max. What annoys me is how the club have suddenly allowed a free for all now. Before they were concerned about tickets getting in the wrong hands and now they are just bothered about making money.
That means nothing what does best seats availlable mean? Swansea will be forced to sell the seats in some sort of order same as we are - and it wont be those nearest the half way line first. In any case you argue that any block of £52 seats are "best seats"
It's a disgrace! Why should Swansea's season ticket holders get the best seats?</p> Surely some of the best seats should go to Barnsley fans!</p> There isn't a bad seat in the Millennium Stadium, there's plenty of tickets to go around, FFS stop moaning! </p>
RE: how would they prevent people using the same code more than once? That's right - same sort of thing was used for U2 advance tickets
RE: It's a disgrace! Depends what you want - a seat at pitch level is, to me, a worse seat to one in the middle tier....a seat in the corner is a worse seat to one down the side. Depends what you mean by "worse", it's all relative - ok the sightlines are excellent and there are good views from all around the stadium.
Whats all the problem about?? theres 29000 tickets available which means everyone should get the tickets they want without any problem! surely you would want 29000 people shouting on the reds instead of the usual 8/9000 people who go to oakwell everyweek?? its always going to happen no matter what club you support and yes its a bit wrong that thoses 20000 people wont be at oakwell next season if we stay down but im not bothered cos id rather have those 20k singing and shouting on the reds!!!! COME ON YOU REDS stop moaning and get behind them
