What is Davey on about?!

Quote from Simon on Stokes' site from the press conference:

"I would love to get Jamal back to where he was four weeks ago when he was in the middle of the park. He best position has been in a central role. We need to refocus his game and take him 25 yards up the pitch."

What is wrong with the guy? JCR is best in the middle of the park, I think all the radiation from the mobile calls to get the 4 recent signings has gone to his brain?!

So, is he going to drop Anderson to play Hammill, JCR, Teymourian, Devaney? Surely not!

Devaney has had one great game this season

Sheff Wed at home .... the rest he has been inconsistent (or poor) but he always seems to play well against the Owls.....

    Foster ?

wouldnt put it past Davey to have him available and sed nowt. even better, a postponed game and we might have him and the other malteser back.

Not a single left footed player. I reckon he's doing it to spite me.

    Too right . . .

The diamond doesn't work for us, well it hasn't done to date. Plus, out of the players we have, 4 across the middle is the better bet. JCR was ripping teams to shreds early season from on the wings and has been ineffective of late. Therefore, put him and Hammill on the wings, swapping over through the game with Anderson creating in a central role. Devaney can't cross a ball and struggles to take people on so gives way for the new lads.

Put someone as good as JCR on the wing and what do you get.......

...........the occasional decent cross into the opponents 18 yard box and cover for your full back.

...........put someone with JCRs skill and SPEED in the middle of the park between your midfield and strikers and what do you get.............total panic in the oppositions defence

I think the later is quite possibly the answer

PS...............who the hell would want Higgy or Glavin on the wing ?

    Too soon I suspect

But he needs to get in central defence avec Darren Moore asap cos Souza's lost the plot recently.</p>

That left back issue and playing JCR centrall is a direct provocation to thee me and jay.

Please tell me that you're not comparing JCR to either Hignet or Glavin.

The skill and speed is also the case with him running at the defence from the wing, whether it be down the line or more direct towards goal. Devaney offers nothing, except work for the ball boys and cathcing practice for the keepers.

Assuming there's no change on the injuries front and no more incoming/out going transfers:-
    Muller
    Hassell
    Moore
    Souza
    Kozluk
    JCR
    de Silva
    Teymourian
    Hammill
    Mifsud
    Macken.

At least we can change things now

On Saturday, Bristol City changed their system and it won the game for them. With Hammill in the team, we can alternate between the diamond and 442 which is what I think will happen tomorrow.

Higgy and Glavin were our best player in their time.........JCR is our best right now

In both cases the managers of the time found it difficult to know where to play Higgy and Glavin in the 442 system we had then. But the diamond midfield solves those problems now.

........a player like JCR running directly at central defenders will cause nightmares for those defenders

JCR has a much much bigger impact on play when he's playing central than stuck out wide
