The roomers are rife that financial troubles are hitting us again, but how can this be? Shepard takes every opportunity to tell us how in a years time the club will break even and that steps are being taken to preserve the long term future of the club. I would love to know what is actually going on. Moral in the club looks sky high, they didn't play on Saturday like they hadn't been paid? Are they being paid? Worryingly numerous players are running their contracts down, what are we doing to secure these players? To replace some of the lads would probably cost a million? All this comes at a time when we look great and a sure bet for the play offs. If its true its such a shame. I thought all was rosy, but how do these stories start if not true? If finances are very tight, surely the Hayes transfer would never have got the green light?
It's just gossip Dunt worry abart it. However, Mr Shepherd has not claimed we will break even in a years time. He has simply stated there will be a 'major improvement' on the figures year ending May 31 2006.
