It's the same game, same rules, same number of players but situated on a pitch somewhere other than jokewell but for some reason we don't adopt the same approach....we try not to lose instead of trying to win like at home?

It don't make sense, don't get it, never have never will.

Attack attack attack attack attack.....u boring fekkers.

I've never understood that either - if you're asking the team to play differently home and away then surely they can never really be at their best either.

Play the best players in their best positions and let them get on with it - if it doesn't work you get new players, if it doesn't work with new players then sack the manager for signing the wrong players!

I don't like it either. I'd rather see us lose being positive and trying to win the game than lose setting up to not lose. You never know we might just pick up a few more points.

couldn't pick up any less could we - 6 away defeats open the trot.

I have come to the conclusion this football management lark is not as hard as they all make out......just think a lot of the managers aren't that bright. And considering a lot of em used to be ex players.....I may have hit the nail on the head.....again,

Just gimme a call Danny and thereev will help thi art.

Agree 100% and so did the travelling fans, singing "Attack Attack....".

Strangely we did a bit in the second half when Hourahan came on.

When we are at home and we go in front we end up under the cosh for the remainder of the game. Wilson has stated he accepts we are going to be under the cosh in that situation so sets up accordingly and we have put some fortunate wins together.

When we are away and we go behind we again come under the cosh as the other team is trying to kill the game off. Wilsons plan here is to defend at 1 nil down and maybe we can nick an equaliser on the break.

Frustrating tactics. Being hammered most of the game and then Willson sees it as a great game if we hold em off.

I think he gives every team in the league too much respect no matter where they are in the league. I don't expect him to come out in interviews and say our opponents are rubbish and we will beat them 5-0, but i'd hope on the training field and in the changing room before games he's telling them the opponents are there to be beaten and nothing to worry about.

Well he needs to have a very serious re-think about his tactics/approach, because we have been absolute dog sh*te away from home since we beat the Blunts.

Chesterfield, Walsall, Preston, Donny, MK Dons & Swindon - as bad as I can ever remember us being away from home for that long, and before anybody says 3 of those are in the top 4, they were pretty poor as well, although that may be because they didn't have to string many passes together etc. to beat us, seen as we were waving the white flag straight from the kick off

    Nail >>>>>>>> Head

I really wish we had a manager that advocated and bought the players for an attacking, passing brand of football. Watching us away under Wilson (including last season) has been soul-destroying, and the Swindon game was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. I won't be going to any more non-local away games as travelling all the way to places like Walsall, MK, Swindon to see your team sitting back without a modicum of desire to try and win the game is getting too much to bear now. Until that changes I'll be staying away. I'll keep going to Oakwell as I've got a half season ticket and it's a piece of piss to get there compared to away games, but Christ the football we play and tactics we employ are dull.

If we pick up some good wins in the upcoming winnable games, which breeds confidence and as a result we start playing better football as well as winning. We then end the season by storming into the playoffs playing good football and full of confidence, will people look back at this stage in the season and give Wilson and the team the credit they deserve for picking points up while we weren't playing well? Or will people just wonder why it took us so long to start playing and blame Wilson for not getting automatic promotion as he wasted time trying to get a point away at Swindon in February....?

A couple of wins, a look at the top 6 and just you watch them start passing the ball around. Funny thing confidence.

If we continue playing the same awful, defensive football away from home and start to pick up wins then that's absolutely fine by me.

The fact we've lost the last 6 away games employing these tactics though suggests that probably won't happen.
But of course if it does, I'll give credit where it's due.

Got to admit Wilson does prepare us for defeats the way he puts other teams on a pedestal.

Bet owt that tomorrow we will be playing "a very good team, yes they are a very very good team, in fact they are a very very very good team. Good passers of the ball and a good attacking force"

I may be wrong about this but,if they are in the top 4 then I think that proves they are not pretty poor and it may be down to our tactics that make them look poor?
I think we need to score more goals away, but if we are making the top sides in the league look poor, then we are doing something right and it needs just tweaking, instead of a total overall ?
As I said I am probably talking crap though.

Yes we should and I'm sure we had more than we did before winning those 2 games, but Swindon's confidence is through the roof. I would be interested to see if we win a couple of these games coming up what kind of football we are playing.
