cos I've no idea. Each game I watch, someone I thought was an automatic choice has a shitter, and someone else come backs into the reckoning. I'd have said drop Hassell for Moore after Forest, but he was back to his best on Sat and Souza cost us the game. De Silva seems most peoples automatic choice, but he's been average in the 2 games since his return from suspension. Up front, Macken seems to miss too many chances, but who else to partner Cureton, who himself was offside too often on Sat. I give up.
At this moment in time i don't think we could muster 11 decent players who could get a result in any league. A big shake up is needed sooner rather than later.
I disagree I think if all our players perform to their abilities in one game, we're a match for anyone. At the moment, it seems like too many games are slipping away cos someones had an off day.
It's hard to say, especially in defence. For me Moore and Souza have done well this season but then Foster must play CB for me. Also think Hassell's done well at RB, so do you drop him if you have to accomadate Foster?
We've got some players who are decent on their day but....
...with the exception of JCR and Foster few are consistent enough. I put that down to Simon Davey continually fannying about.

I think a very frustrating aspect of our game alately Is the number of goals being conceeded due to individual errors. This is quite difficult to legislate for. As well as that, there are one or two of our players who aren't as effective as usual, simply because they're not not on top of their game. I believe, when we play everyone in their best positions, we can get a result against anyone in this league. We're still involved in a relegation battle, despite some of our fans thinking otherwise a few weeks back. Looking at the forthcoming fixtures, as 2008 comes to a close, I'm not confident that our position will improve much in the short term.
I'm not so sure we haven't got a best 11................. it's just that it doesn't always play in the correct positions-Simon please stick to 4-4-2- home and away and we'll do far better-we give too much respect to the opposition away from home-and don't change the side unless absolutely necessary
RE: I'm not so sure we haven't got a best 11................. I think he`s the only one that cant see it Paul. On a match day you sit there and everyone except Davey is saying we need to change it or else. Then the or else happens and then he changes it.
I don't think it's far away from the side he's picking to be honest. We need Disco back asap as far as i'm concerned and then we can play Jamal wide (on either flank). The defence picks itself as does the midfield when they are all fit or not suspended. As you say Macken is missing too many chances but how many more strikers can he sign that don't cut it ? There's a line of failed striker signings all sat there on the bench week in week out and non of them ever look like sorting our problem out. I think on Saturday we were totally unprofessional. Reading were handing us at least a point on a plate and we should have just taken it. Same at Forest last week ........ we are fritting away chances to keep the points total ticking and it's going to put us back under pressure before long. Lets be honest, who expects us to get anything at all from the next 2 away games ? Plymouth at home is now going to be massive. A month ago i was convinced we were a mid-table team ...... now i'm not so sure and can see us getting sucked back into the drop zone.
My team would be:
Muller
Foster Souza Moore Kozluk

JCR Anderson Colace Leon

Mostto Cureton
Main thing is tactics, we need to stop the negative play home and away. Sick of seeing us sitting back and getting caught out just like Saturday. I have picked Mostto just because Macken and Oddjob have had far too many chances and just haven't taken them, we need to try something different or we are just going to fall into the bottom 3 by the new year.

Cureton AND Mostto? very similar players, dont see that working, and Leon's no left winger, think he's better central in a five man midfield.
V Swansea Macken dropped eeper into midfield, play Odejayi - no Barnsley fans in the crowd, he might do summat.
Did I say that ? Saturday degenerated into farce - it's gone beyond criticism and is now just piss taking - he must be aware of it - but that said, after missing 2 good chances like he did, I'd have him straight back out asap to play again and make amends. Without the added pressure of performing in front of massed Barnsley support.

If Moore and Kozluk are both still injured I cant see us playing 5 in midfield, might be a blessing. Cureton needs games to get his match sharpness back, so for me its him and one other up front, with a makeshift midfield of JCR, Colace, Leon and Wilo the Whisp.
He has the physique for climbing through the gap in a fence. Put a couple of decent crosses in like, but a strong gust of wind and he'll be waving to us from the roof of the East Stand.
Best for me has to be........... Best XII: Muller Foster, Moore, Souza, Kozluk Devaney, Colace, Anderson, JCR Macken & Cureton ........... As for Swansea game! I guess it to late to recall loan players but I'd bring in Atkinson and Heslop......... Muller Foster, Atkinson, Souza, Hassell JCR, Colace, Heslop, El Haimour Macken & Cureton But otherwise........... I'd mix it up a little and play 5-3-2 as follows: (GK) Muller (RWB) Van Homeot, (CB) Foster, (SW) Hassell, (CB) Souza, (LWB) El Haimour (AMRC) JCR, (DMC) Colace, (AMLC) Cureton (FC) Macken, (FC) Rigters
