Easy for us all to criticise but what is our best XI and strongest formation?

    It's 4 4 2

Always has been always will be. Keep it simple - make the best use of our best 2 players - Woodrow and Mowatt.

    Collins
    Cavare Diaby Sollbauer Oduor
    Brown Mowatt Dougall Thomas
    Woodrow Chaplin

The personnel isn't that important - the formation is. Instead of Thomas, Oduor could easily be pushed forward with Pinillos at LB. Halme could play instead of Dougall - he did well as a DM earlier in the year.

Said all season I couldn't pick a side from our squad that I believe will regularly win games. I don't rate Struber from what I've seen so far, but relegation was signed sealed and delivered in the summer. And we sacked an excellent manager too for good measure.

We are too naive and open. We are p iss poor at the back with inexperienced players that leave the keeper exposed

it would be dull to watch but 4 across the back with two sitting in front (or one of these in the back 4 to make it a 5), three in midfield and one up front playing very deep and hitting on the break would have got us more points

this year was about staying in the league

as jay says the board accepted a cheque in July instead of trying to achieve that objective and have catastrophically failed in their duties.

I won’t be going again (and haven’t been since Stendel was fired) until I see some evidence of their commitment to this football club

I like him but like last night showed it is too much too soon for him but he will be good. B Williams i think is tough, energetic, gives his all and has looked decent at times so he can do it, Best option at present in a relegation fight, maybe.

Its tricky. Theres a lot to like about him but like you said hes not flawless. He was as guilty of square passes at the back as much as anyone against Wednesday and even though he had loads of space he wasnt driving the ball forward.

With regards to Oduor, he was signed as part of the Development Squad at the start of the season wasn't he? The same with Simoes. But they've both been thrust into the first team too soon due to negligence.

I really rate Oduor, but he should be introduced into the side gradually, building up his experience and game time as he gets older and stronger. Not having to play every minute of every game because we aren't allowed to pick Pinillos.

    Cavare isn’t a left back.

he’s done it before mate and was okay. Yes it was league 1 but am sure he would do better than Williams

Oduor would be better than both.

Cavare should be however playing right back.

Not sure i would want to describe any combination of our squad the "best"
This happens when you have a poor squad. Over the course of 3 different head coaches we have tried many different players in different formations and tactics. I don't believe that there is some untried magic formula that would change anything.
We simply don't have better options. So we have tried something different. Hence the players out of postion. It's all just a sign of the desperation that comes from the coach knowing we aren't good enough to stay up.

Cavare isn’t a natural left back no - but he played left back in the game I still think was our best performance of this season.

Jordan Williams isn’t a natural footballer never mind left back, and he played most of last night in that position.

That's why I'd stick with Struber.

I genuinely have no idea if he is a decent coach or not. He was ontona loser from day one mind. I think the owners will move him on.
