I know a lot of people think that it is 147, but it isnt, but i dont know what it is. I think its 155 due to a free ball givin by a player who fouled on the break, any colour can then be potted as a red by the opponent, then the black, then all 15 reds and 15 blacks followed by the 6 remaining colours!!
Qualifying as a "wild card" for the World Championships and then all your opponents get a mystery illness just before you play them and you win the title by default!
correct. i think the biggest break tournament break ever recorded is 149 by tony drago. a 155 has never been made in tournament play
155 but.... in theory it is possible to score 162 without your opponent having a shot. It is not technically a break and it is a bit way out but it can be done. Here goes. The match is handicapped Player A is giving Player B 159 points start, Player A breaks off misses the reds and leaves a free ball, Foul 4 points Player B comes to the table nominates a colour as free ball pots it then black then 15 reds 15 blacks and all the colours 155 plus 4 for the foul 159 the game is tied Black ball respot. Player B wins the toss and elects to play cuts in the black for game 162 point scored without Player A coming to the table!! Told you it was way out. I have refereed 3 147's Ronnie O'Sullivan, Stephen Maguire & David McLellan and on 2 occasions at the crucible came close John Higgins 125 missed brown and Stuart Bingham 134 missed pink off the spot, I think I was more gutted than him! jamie Burnett holds the highest break in a professional match 148, Drago had 149 in a practice match, so did Steve Duggan from Thurnscoe and supposedly Wally West from London had a 151 in a match but I knew Wally and this is extremely unlikely.
RE: 155 but.... without your opponent having a shot? but he breaks off and makes a foul, so technically he does have a shot, and giving him 159 points to begin with lol
RE: 155 but.... Okay then he places the ball behind the Brown and the touches the yellow with his sleeve. Now he doesn't have a shot!
RE: 155 but.... I suggest you complain to Wikipedia fella, as your page is out of date......... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuart_Bennett
