    Absolutely pointless, I've only ever watched 1 and that was in 1990 when England were in it.

    2 teams who would rather be at home.

    Back in the days when the winners of the World Cup qualified for the next tournament I did think if they extended that to the runners-up and 3rd place then it would make the 3rd place play off worth something.

    Problem then is you've got three good teams scratching around for friendlies while all rivals have competitive games to build a squad and approach.
