''Look, Im not even going to give it the time of day, its a betting market. We've got a huge game Thursday and nothing will take away from that focus. We've got Bury on Sunday, its betting, until anything changes then there is no decision to make anyway. Im really happy here, we've turned it round, we're flying, we've got a Wembley final potentially and we can kick on.''
Thought that was a good response from him. Thought Giddings tweet this morning was a bit misleading really ... basically said LJ refused to rule himself out of the Bristol job. While technically that's true ... the impression the tweet gave was that LJ had actually said something along the lines of "no I'm not ruling myself out". When you watch the interview he basically doesn't give the question any credence.
Exactly. Headline could/should have been 'LJ fully committed Barnsley future'. It would have been if it was Carvalhal linked with a job. They dont mind stirring things up for the smaller clubs.
To be fair to Andy Giddings, he is the sports editor at BBC Radio Sheffield. He wants folk to listen to his stuff. Traffic.
To be fair he made very similar statements whilst he was at Oldham and we were rumoured to be circling. He's a very canny bloke - if he does go nothing in that statement will make him look a tw*t to Bristol supporters. It could be interpreted as him cagily keeping his options open whilst waiting for a firm offer rather than saying he doesn't want the move. If he stays then he doesn't look a tw*t to us lot as it can be read as him dismissing it.
Good riddance ??? I for one wanted him to go earlier in this season How wrong was I Humble pie and all that I think some people are that pissed off he proved them wrong they still want him gone How anyone can want a manager to go after 6 straight wins is beyond me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
totally agreed and that does not happen often does it Marc. I am well pleased for LJ, have to admit many a time I was at break point and did on occasion say it may be time to get rid... but the lad has done good. Just hope we do not get a repeat of the last time we won 6 on the spin, and then went barren for 9.... but somehow I do not see that happening.
If I was being cynical I'd say there's a delay until after the Fleetwood game. Then he can go, win or lose.
remember on this tuesday night last year we beat his Oldham side at home, which was our 4th straght home win actually. it was poor on the night and i found it hard to believe they were challenging for the top five at the time. what did we all think of him at the time, bearing in mind that wilson was going to be sacked the following week.
Maybe I should have stuck to being cynical. Still, it would be a brave man or one ruled only by his heart and wallet to give up a Wembley appearance.
