Personally i think he needs to look at the following-

A 2nd keeper but someone who can pressure Steel for his position and not just someone who is happy to be paid to do nothing.

A commanding centre half with leadership qualities.

    A creative central midfielder.

    A pacy and talented winger.

2 strikers.A target man and also someone who can play off a target man.

    Yes to the keeper.
Top priority would be a kick ass centre half
probably need a midfielder agreed assuming Butterfield goes.
Assuming O'Brien re-signs we have a talented winger
Davies & Done upfront, or Done out wide with another striker.

I've been thinking about this for a while since we lost the 3 who proved to be critical to our success.

I'm assuming Hill will stick to a 4-5-1/4-3-3 and now and then go with 2 up top depending on required tactics.

Goalkeeper wise, I'm inclined to let Lidakevacius step up. The emergency loan market is there if an injury occurs and we don't have the cost carrying an extra wage for a player that features rarely.

Defensively we have lots of options, but we havent found the right balance and I think Foster may be more bit part next season. An organiser and a captain would be a great addition.

What we are missing is a creative midfielder. Butterfield reincarnate. The 2 defensive midfielders are ok. We can play McNulty, Hassell, Perkins and Dawson there and maybe start to blood Digby here and there.

Wide players we've Done and O'Brien. Clark might get a few games but it would be a lot of reliance on a developing youngster and with the set up of the team we're reliant on goals from wide. O'Brien works hard and helps back and Done has shone at times but we need more goals and creativity.

And up front we have Davies. We only have Dagnall and Rose (maybe RNL) to push him and thats not good enough.

If we used the large majority of available budget on a centre half who can lead and organise, a quality striker to work alongside Davies who is a goalscorer with a cracking shot on him and not a target man and most importantly a creative midfielder that can pull the strings... I wouldn't recruit too much more.

Quality rather than quantity this year and with the players we've let go this season, we will have freed up considerable resource.
