    1 young forward signed
    Bids for Adam and Hammill
3 Trialists - experienced back up keeper, young promising full back & a forward who's played at championship level

And all before our first pre season freindly

Did you honestly expect us to make loads of "box office" signings in the first week of the transfer window?
Let's be realistic about who Barnsley will attract with the wages we can offer, I'd rather have a club who just survive in a very difficult league than have no club at all or even worse end up like Leeds

I know we aint Real Madrid... but Dean Morgan aint gonna set the world on fire. It looks like we are gonna rely on Youth this season which makes me extremely worried.

You just can't tell some people.

They think they are supporting Manchester United, and not little old Barnsley.

A lot of so called 'supporters' are still living in the Premiership years.

    "not little old Barnsley"

what a poor attitude to have. Why don't we just pack in if that's all we ever aim to be?

It's nowt to do with "living in the Premiership years" it's more to do with a belief that we have the right to play against and try to beat all sides in this division and not **** ourselves playing the mighty Swansea....

Well I wanted Davey sacking before I got home from Plymouth ...

....... everything that happens thereafter is because he's still here.

It's no surprise to me that season ticket sales are down, if that is true (and 'match day' ticket sales will be non-existant too), it's no suprise that we are signing Conference players ('for the future') and League Two players who excelled on loan at relegation threatened League One Leyton Orient last season, or that the mighty Blackpool may beat us to the signing of our number one target .... just as relegation to Pub League One won't surprise me either, 'cos that's what will happen the way things have been going for far, far too long already under this clown

    A poor attitude?

No, mate, no it's not a poor attitude at all. It' s the truth.

Too many 'supporters' and I use that term loosely, are deluding themselves into thinking we are world beaters.

Does anyone actually know what our finances are like? What our wage bill is? What Davey has to spend on players? I doubt it. You can guess and guess and guess all you want but at the end of the day, he can only work with what he has. He is a young manager, and he will and has made mistakes, but don't we all? We are of course, all human.

We are a small club. We don't have anywhere near the size of funds that even Swansea City have to throw at players, and maintain a positive consistency throughout the season. At the moment, we have a good squad. I feel with a decent striker and a solid, creative midfielder we could be well suited to finishing mid table at the least.

The Championship, this season is for me going to be the tightest it has ever been; there are no poor sides on show. There are some that are minutely better than others, but on any given day, almost any team in the league can beat anyone else on their day. Last season, Plymouth went to Wolves and won, ending a 10 game winless streak. Nottingham Forest won at Reading. We beat Sheffield Wednesday, and Doncaster comprehensively as well as outplaying the likes of QPR, and many other teams throughout the season. The key is consistency and if you don’t have it – you’re done for. You can have all the quality you like, and if you look at our squad this season, we have some quality in there; the most for a long while. Doncaster are a good, solid side, and despite starting slowly last season, they found resolve and consistency. Norwich are a good, solid side, but they didn't have consistency, neither did Watford, neither did Blackpool and neither did we; all decent sides who are capable or were capable of achieving much better things. We are a good side, that’s a given. We have a good manager, and anyone who thinks that getting rid of Davey is a good thing, is sadly mistaken. This club has had too many sackings over the years, and it has affected our stability. The players need to wake up and realise, that they could be playing League One football next year, which is something that nobody wants to see, again.

I suppose, it all comes down to your particular wants from watching Barnsley FC. I, quite frankly expected us to be anything from midtable down towards a relegation scrap, and that’s where we were – anything else, for a club this size is a bonus. Davey has brought in some good players, who, when they gel, can play some truly brilliant football, however, like I said, there are a lot of good teams in this league, and the difference is only minute. One mistake, one slip, one deflection is all it takes. People need to realise, that we support Barnsley FC because it’s engrained into us. They are in our hearts and it’s an emotional rollercoaster. If you want wins and brilliant performances week in, week out – then go and watch Manchester United. If not, then get behind the lads, and realise, just realise for one second, that we are one of the underdogs, if not, THE underdogs of the Championship. We are expected to lose. We are expected to go down. We are expected to fail. People view us as losers.

We, as 'supporters' should back the team no matter what. Sure, we may get frustrated at times, and angry - but far too many people are on our backs from the start. They don't need us being negative also.

    Get behind the lads ffs.

    I'm sorrry, but I disagree..

There are a number of clubs in this division that are no bigger than us, one of which went up to the Prem, it's just that Davey has people convinced that we should never expect or desire more than a relegation scrap. If you want to settle for that then fine, but I won't.

"We are expected to lose. We are expected to go down. We are expected to fail. People view us as losers".

So what, it's what we believe to be true that matters and we should believe in ourseleves. Sadly, the manager and apologists for him do not.

my wants for BFC are as previosuly stated, to believe we have the right to play and aim to beat all sides in the division and not to **** ourselves playimng the mighty Swansea..

    You're wasting you're flipping time

Some people are determined to think small and pull down anyone who dares to demand a bit of ambition. These are the worst type of supporters IMO. Not only do they justify mediocrity - they encourage it. Makes me flipping sick.

I'll sign up to the not a true supporter's club because I think the manager is cluless and I am not impressed by signing the likes of Dean Morgan and Maxine Chanot(?)

    Actually

It was Premiership year, not years, but we've spent most of the last 30 years as a top half second tier club. So most fans expectations are a top half finish with the possibility of a play-off spot still in the offing at Easter.
