Is why some people look at stupid posts from cnuts like thereev and Dragon Tyke and take that to be the consensus view of this BBS. They ignore the fact that these people are almost universally acknowledged to be beneath contempt, consistently talk the utmost ***** and are either ignored or disagreed with. Rather, they take such posts to be a litmus test of the general feeling of BBS users.

So, I've got a question to ask all of you lecturing us about our views on the state of affairs down at Oakwell. Are you ******* mental? I include Keith Hill's mates from down the pub in that. Since when is a society judged on the couple of retards wandering about about with their pants on backwards biting their own shoes? Surely you look at what the average Joe is saying if you want to understand what the overall feeling is about the situation.

I read the BBS every day and it seems obvious to me what the average Joe is saying: Keith Hill is doing a pretty good job particularly considering the budget constraints. There's a bit of concern about recent results. A bit of quality needs bringing in to replace the good players we lost. Keith Hill being sacked is the last thing people want. Views are divided between those who think Keith Hill is a pretty good manager who talks ***** and those who think Keith Hill is pretty good manager who talks sense.

There's literally thousands of posts like this. So why react to the couple of loons who say sack Keith Hill and why make out that is the overriding feeling? It makes you even more mental than the mentalists.

Is that what a chain reaction is?

...and how introspectively mental do you have to be to assume that the reactive lecture is aimed at you and not just the mental ones who caused the reaction? There is after all something soothing about banging one's head against a brick wall.

It's just a shame that the nonsense generates long threads that, at first glance, disproportionately represent the views of the board. Just like a Keith Hill interview that, when abridged, misrepresents his tone. Or a disco dancefloor come-on that, when misheard, results in a knee to the groin.

I prefer browsing /b/ these days. You get more sense on there. "Tits or GTFO". You can't argue with that really.

Top thread - I'm guilty of getting wound up by the nob-heads. What should i do instead? - other than go play with my little woodland animal I have nowhere to vent my spleen and I feel like I have to adopt missionary position in an attempt to make things better.
I need help. I could be even more mental than the mentalists.

Its the same in many walks of life a few people with extreme views make a lot of noise and get their views a prominence that just isnt justified

For some reason in this country in particular a view that something is bad is far more newsworthy than something is good - so 2 or 3 people saying that Hill is a bad manager gets a far greater promincence than several hundred saying he is doing just fine.

Its even more bizarre when all the objective evidence ( comfortable mid table and safe with a third of the season to go ) is that he is doing a pretty good job so far.

    Re: I've got an excuse

Our lass thinks Keith Hill's mental - she takes the piss out of his interviews and she is totally ambivalent towards BFC and football in general. I can only imagine the voices in the head of those BFC fans who get themselves wound up the minute he opens his trap.

How could we appoint Mcarthy without getting rid of Hill in one way or another?

I was thinking IF Hill 'walked' as some on here suggest he may do.

The entire thread lost its meaning to me because you didn't include Supertyke alongside Dragon Tyke and thereev. I reckon he'll be devastated not to have been included in your list.

Make Hill the new Director of Fashion, and appoint McCarthy as the manager?
