What really made a difference last night..

    was mobil and athletic full backs who could get forward and support the attack - some thing that has been missing for a long time. They are quite tall as well so can help out and seemed to keep their position most of the time.

    I was genuinely entertained last night. It only begs the question why the plank was not axed in May?

    they actually got some cover from the midfield players in front of them?

    IMHO, that made the biggest difference. Very rarely were they exposed 1-on-1 with their opponent.

    BTW, WBA didn't double up on Anderson & Hammill - as a consequence, they caused a good deal of havoc in the first half particularly...

    Dickinson was quite fortunate NOT to get sent off.
