Everybody has had their moan at shepherd for appointing him, the players been brought in etc.

But you are Davey, you have just taken over, and for arguments sake say the transfer window is shut. You have to work with this squad, where do you start?

    I'd start by

playing Robbie Williams in midfield and Sam Togwell on the right wing. It's obvious when you think about it.

Well that wouldn't be my plan, but I don't have any badges.

Any serious suggestions as to what we should be doing?

Along with all the other constructive responses you'll get

back to basics with the head tennis, pork butties and go carting.

play a system that suits the players rather than imposing summat that doesn't work. Got to play to strengths and get them to enjoy playing.

8 on 8's are the answer

No need to go back to basics , just go back to the start of the season would be enough.

My suggestion, kay as captain, with encouragement to bollock any player who doesn't seem to be pulling their weight in a game.

    Reid to the bench.

    RE: woohoo

Kay and Hassell as centre backs, new right back and 2 new strikers. failing that, Keeley Hazell appointed to help with warm up.

Assuming Kyle Reid goes back to Hammers after his loan spell.

And nobody else wants to play in't Championship for 4 months. I'd pick this side.

Colgan.

Austin. Hassell. Kay. Eckerthing.

Devaldo. Togwell. Howard. Hayes.

Richards. Nardy.

Option of Paul Reid in central midfield, Hecky at LB with Eckerthing on left side of midfield if you want to be more defensive.

I'd also try and get them to pass to each other and then move somewhere appropriate for the return ball - where they thought fit, rather than regimented to zones. I'd have Howard pushed on, not stood at the edge of our penalty area looking for the ball.

Keep poor bloody Mattis away from the starting XI until he's more settled, use McCann as sub.

    no new players!

Hassell's best position is centre back for me so can cope with that. Although i don't have a problem with leaving atkinson in there. He makes some mistakes, but looks to be getting better, and already looks better than reid. If hassell is in the middle who at right back? Austin?

No new strikers, so who do we start out of nardiello, hayes, richards, coulson, joynes or jarman?

remeber Cast did a song, walk away!! thin thats says it all!!!

Sorry Simon but your not the man for me, I haven't been entertained or inspired since you took over. Nice man yes, good coach probably, well qualified yes, however, good manager you ain't! or not yet anyway!! This job is to big for you right now it need an old head who's been there before to come and sort this mess out.

Sadly from watching the players it also looks as if they are not playing for you either........

Step down whilst you still can and take the academy forward.... Look at Charlton, Les Reed! what a mess! do it now whilst its to late...... We need someone with some balls e.g. Peter Reid, Gary Megson, Stan Ternant to sort these lads out

RE: Assuming Kyle Reid goes back to Hammers after his loan spell.

We have issues with wingers. Kyel Reid is fast, but I worry about him disappearing, and the full back not getting enough cover. Devaney has been inconsistent this year, but is the best we have. Hayes has done ok, but is not an out and out winger.

So do we play any 2 from them 3, or do we try to play with wide midfielders like mccann, and howard, instead of out and out wingers?

    With no new strikers

I'd reluctantly play Hayes up front on his own with a 5 man midfield of Devaney, Mattis, Togwell, Howard and K Reid, with the hope we can sneak summat. I'd send Nardiello to Halifax for a much needed wake up, I'd have Coulson and Joynes on the bench and I'd let Richards sit at home looking after his bairn and circulate his name around Leagues 1,2 and Conference.

    Kyle Reid looks fast

but he really struggles to get past the fullback and put a cross in.

    Not impressed thus far.

Hayes on his own up front as a target man holding it up for

    the midfield to run onto?
