RE: What do I need in software in order to be able to download Youtube clips http://uk.goofull.com/programa/3790/youtube_downloader_.html, but dont forget they are flv files and you need to find a converter if you want to put em on disc
To download videos from Youtube, you can use this program called Youtube Grabber for example... download it here: http://www.download.com/Youtube-Grabber/3000-2071_4-10574801.html Alternatively, there are many web-based "programs" that do the same for you - you just copy and paste the video link and click a button. Here's one that I've used in the past: http://www.tubeg.com/ Anyway, downloading the videos is the simple part, watching them on your computer is a little bit more complicated. You need a special video player that can play flash video files (.flv) because Windows Media Player (and most other players) can't play them. In my opinion GOM Player is a very good choice, it can play all common media files including .flv. Download it here: http://www.gomplayer.com/main.html If you want to convert the downloaded .flv files into some more "sensible" media format, well, then that's quite complicated. There's a program called Any Video Converter that is quite simple to use but if you need any more help with that, just let me know... I hope this helps, good luck.
http://vixy.net/ converts youtube material to .avi that can be downloaded immediately http://vixy.net/ Very very easy to use.
the firefox extensions didn't work for me. One couldn't find the video file, the other had to go through a proxy to get the video
